Diversity is they key to most successful businesses. I don't really have a problem with Google buying up so many differant businesses, as long as they are not all control by a single entity's descions I don't really see the harm in it.
What I think is, Google is just great.
There is nothing, which Google [whole company, not just CEO] can't buy.

Well, they can't buy SUCCESS. At least up to now they havent, they worked for it. So... the only way of Google to be great is by keepin on working. They could also buy a major fur-treating plant and permanently scar their rep (if you know what I mean). So its all left to smart buying and hard working.
BTW... There are ALOT of things that money can't buyYou could see it now. In the coming years Google buying Microsoft.

Yeah, definitely agreed there. We sure can and should expect that. Nothing could ever be a surprise from them I mean. 
I really like google, and I know that they are good at certain things... like search.... but they really should focus on one thing. They're becoming the no-name brand of the internet.

In this particular case, I seriously doubt that with all of Google's investments the "success" you mention did not come without a hefty pricetag....so therefore not free.
