Viewers cast more than 74 million votes in making Sparks the winner. Hundreds of "American Idol" fans lined Hollywood Boulevard leading up to the theater before the show.
After the announcement she said to the crowd - "Thank you so much for everything," and continued
"Mom, Dad, I love you. Nana, Papa, P.J., thank you guys."

Don't associate america with this boring, irritating concept. It doesn't represent us at all. For that matter, it's not 'reality tv' either.

im happy for jordan but i think blake should've won. i like his creativity an his own style. jordan is just another pretty voice but blake on the other hand is totally different. and these days...ppl want different things but god knws why ppl voted for jordan to be the winner
will jordin go on diet like other american idol contestant? carrie underwood, degarmo what? blake performance is so weak..he was crushed by simon comment and not in the mood to sing blah
