NOne of em i think now at this moment Kaka is the best player of the world and he will prove it on wednesday.
LordJuvent
I think that the best player in the world is Ronaldinho. He haven't got good season this season but when his team need him he can play perfect.
skynet
Well.. for now, I think it's Cristiano Ronaldo.
HE was in a great form this year, and is the best player this year that took Man Utd to a great season.
georgekalathil
Considering the Current generation and form Christiano Ronaldo is the best player. MEssi is also not far behind...
josel7u1host
Ronaldinho is the best player in the world the problem with him now is that he is tire because he played since 3 or 4 season at a very high level and now is he is not in his best condition thats why barcelona is not playing at good level because all the playing pass thru him and he is the player who starts the plays and eto'o finished them. just because of that i think there is one player who is on top of him cristiano ronaldo but i think just for this season.
Jurado
Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka are the best players this season. Both did great work for their team.
PadraigCurran
What kind of poll is that? Confused Kaka is the best player in the world at the moment & Thierry Henry (When hes back to his old best)
_AVG_
What anonsense poll that is! Phil Neville? Rodriguez? What nonsense! Kaka should be in there! So should Messi!

i Vote To Ronaldinho is the Best

ronaldo all the way. he deserves the awards he won
romaop
Not a good poll. Kaka, Messi, Drogba, Nistelrooy, Ricardo Carvalho, Drogba should be at that list.
Phil Neville and Rodriguez shouldn't be there. Beckham is also questionable.

Oh come on! He's such a pathetic player. He's one of the worst! He played really well when at Old Trafford but in Everton he's awful.

No problem, my fault too, I was laughing my ass off when I posted it ...... Phil Neville.... .hehe hehe hehe

Kaka is one of them.. Best player? I give my vote to kaka. messi is one growing talent too.. Ronaldo too

maybe in future it will be Nani haha.. i am a manchester united supporter Razz

i give my vote to kaka for now. Just wondering why kaka name is not in the poll.
_AVG_
There are three serious contenders for the future players:

- Messi
- Nani
- Anderson
- Joao Moutinho
etc. etc.

Yup, Man Utd have quite a few youngsters now. As for Cristiano, he's already a superstar.

Also, Fabregas is going to become a LEGEND in my opinion.
poly
ronaldinho

he is a global icon, if you ask ANYONE (soccer fan or not) who ronaldinho is, 90 percent will know, you cant say that for any of the other people on the list

beckham should not even be considered in this list of greats, he is a washed up old hag who only has his spice girl wife and his "good looks" going for him, this is why he moved to the US, because he realizes he can no longer compete at the level he was playing at, not to shed more light on the sport of soccer, and anyone who believes that should watch more soccer, or not have an opinion

edit: HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT HENRY, add him to this list, hes second and then ronaldo and then zidane 3 years ago
runereference
i think that the vote on the top is completely accurate and that everyone who voted know what theyre talking about....GO RONALDINHO

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Since no one seems to be changing the poll, I'll just vote for Cristiano Ronaldo as he is the best out of all those in that list.

I don't agree with those who are saying Beckham shouldn't be on the list. He may be past his best but he's still an outstanding footballer. His lifestyle doesn't have anything to do with how good he is at football either - he could be married to Jordan, the Queen, George Bush... it wouldn't make him any less of a footballer.

But Henry and Kaká surely have to be included in the list. I think my vote right now would go to Kaká. He's been outstanding for Milan, and was probably the one bright spark of a poor World Cup campaign for Brazil last year. Henry has been fantastic for Arsenal consistently for the last few seasons now, and deserves to win the top FIFA award. It will be a travesty if he never earns the prize.

Ronaldinho couldn't cut it on the big stage - i.e. the World Cup. Maybe it was tiredness, or personal problems, or nerves... I don't know, but he's still an awesome football and deserves to be at the top of this particular list.

Everyone seems to have forgotten about Zidane.

Don't forget the magic of Zizou!

If you consider only the best players, Beckham, won't be there because he isn't a full skilled player. He crosses the ball quite well and is also good at free-kicks. But he is not a good dribbler. Can't be compared to Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, ...
Ricardo Carvalho is the best defender. Go Neville, the crowd is supporting you!!!
Flexx-D
I do not know that much about soccer.. I specially like skateboarding, snowboarding, baseball and basketball.. But if I hear to what the most people say on my school, I think Ronaldinho is the best soccer player... So I did just vote for him!

Greetings, Flexx-D
raingod
don't forget Casillas, the Spain and Real Madrid #1.

First of all, Beckham is an amazing player ........ He fought his way back into the Real first side and the England squad as well. He did all this without complaining or blaming anyone.

Secondly, Ricardo Carvalho is not the best defender, Cannavaro is better. So is Nesta and even John Terry.

Thirdly, please remove Phil Nevile ..... Rolling Eyes

David Beckham is the best football player the world have ever seen. His unique style whatever it may be in play, dressing style, hair style etc has attracted thousands and thousands of people and they have become his fans.He is the king in the football field. In addition to his success in the football field,Beckham has been recognised by Times Magazine as one of the Time 100 Heroes and Icons and has received many other accolades for his charitable work and leadership off the football field. Most recently Beckham was conferred the "Britain's Greatest Ambassador" award in May 2007.In the early part of this decade,Beckham was the world's most highky paid football player and is today well known as an elite global advertising brand.
David Beckham began his career by signing a professional contract with the then top team "Manchester United" and made his debut first team appearance in 1992,at an age of only 17 and then he continued his journey of success all the way through..Beckham's fame extends beyond the football ground. In most of the part of the world his name is recognisable as that of multinational companies like Coca-Cola and IBM.Beckham's relationship and marriage with Victoria, who had been famous in her own as part of the musical group "Spice Girls" contributed towards him becoming a major celebrity outside of football.Recently he has moved into the world of aftershaves along with Victoria with the release of "David Beckham Instinct".And Beckham's name was searched for on the Internet Search Giant GOOGLE more than that of any sports personality in 2003 and 2004.
Thus not only in the field of football play he is the king but also David Beckham is the king who dominates all the field he goes in and thats why he has become the most famous football player all over the world..

I voted for Ronaldinho too, because of some reasons which you should know, I'm sure Very Happy

Here my vote for Zidane, think he deserves it!
romaop
Ricardo Carvalho is well known by football trainers. Trainers know his importance for the Chelsea squad. When he was injured, Chelsea lost the champions and the premiership. He is the most important Chelsea player.

He is a fantastic defender, a good attacking header, a brilliant counterattack starter, and has even skill with his feet. He has some dribbling capability to become an extra attack supporter when things get worse.
I also think Canavarro, Nesta and Terry are very good but Ricardo Carvalho tops the list.

Agreed with romaop. What kind of soccer n00b are you exactly. I'm going with Messi. But thas debatable. By the way. Beckham sucks huge balls. AVG, just because he worked hard doesn't mean he's a great soccer player. And nvigini or whatever your screen name is; what? What does best ambassador have anything to do with soccer skills? Nvigini? = n00b.
Arseniy
The greatest player of all the time is Pele.
But nowadays, I think, Zinedine Zidan, despite the fact that he had been retired now from big sport. He's really soccer player.
Ronaldinho is not bad, but he's just good dribbler, no spirit.
It's my opinion.

Cristiano Ronaldo was voted the best playerin the premiership, to me he's the best player in the WOLRD today,i hope he gets the award,he was been amazing this past season.

And guys, there is no need to call people "n00bs" for sharing their opinion. It just makes you look like a spoilt child.

LMAO @ Phil Neville making the shortlist.

Ronaldinho is far from the best player in the world. KAKA is perhaps one of the top 5.

From the list, it has to be Ronaldo (c). Though there are a lot of potential names missing off the list.

Ronaldo is a very talented, and young player, but is missing a lot of attributes needed to be called the best...currently. I'm surprised the likes of Ryan Giggs didn't make the list. He's been the single most consistant figurehead in English, and European football for the last 12 years.
SpellcasterDX
I think it's probably Ronaldinho, since he's been voted best player in the world twice and has appeared on the FIFA Soccer game cover 2 times, 3 including FIFA 08 which hasn't come out yet, but the cover has already been unveiled.

He's also really skillful at dribbling and passing. He had his good moments in the 2006 World Cup.
