Able to Forward A subdomain?

Diablosblizz
EDIT: Fixed

But is there anyway to keep the domain instead of changing it to the forwarded domain?
tidruG
Maybe if your hadn't "EDIT:FIXED" your original post, I would have been able to guess what exactly you're asking Razz

Try being a little more specific Smile

Sorry, I never explained myself. Okay, I was able to use the forwarding service for my domain. So I added it and it goes to the url I pointed it to.

Now when I go there it shows the domain that the forums are on (I put them there).

Example:

http://hotelmario.info/forums/

changes to:

http://diablosblizz.meexx.com/forums/

I want the meexx to be changed to Hotelmario.info one.

Is this possible?

Well login to main area go to the area called " Advanced Features" click Site Redirection

In the Local URL Path
Enter in /Forum or /forum

Destination URL put in where it you it to link to

click save.

It should link to where you want it to go.

More help at

http://www.site-helper.com/misc.html#pointers

Look under Site Redirection it is the 7th section down.

I did what you said, but I want it to do what I posted above. Is this possible?

Alright (I hope I read this right) You own the .info domain name, and you have it set so that if someone goes to it, it forwards them to http://diablosblizz.meexx.com/forums/ ?

if this is the case, then you need to set it up as your domain, and not as domain forwarding

(ill be happy to explain this if it really is your problem, I don't wana explain it out and then feel dumb cause that wasn't your problem xD

Edit YES this is your problem

you can do 1 of 2 things

1: enable masking, this is the fastest way, depending where you have your .info hosted, its in different places, but find a check box that says "MASK" and make sure its clicked, that will fix the problem

2) actually set it as the domain name and not domain forwarding.

I do not understand. Could you PM me with some details or post back here?

Found the answer you quest,

Make a .htaccess document and add OR place it in your current in the directory.

Code:
Redirect 301 / http://site you want here/

and it should work

I did a test on for testing just go to

http://google.silverdown.info and it redirects you to google.com

Hello,
I would like to ask a question regarding this.
Does 'setting up your url as your domain name' mean setting up the DNS?
That's why I'm joing Frihost; I was told that you could add on your own domain.

m-productions, I cannot do this. My domain allows it, but they want me to pay 5 bucks. I know, its not a lot, but still. Free Domains even allow you to do that.

What was your other idea?

To setup a domain you need to first buy one, then to change the name servers. For a more detailed tutorial, use the Search on the forums.

Am I right that the name servers can be changed with a frihost hosting account?

Yes, your domain is completely under your control.
You can change the nameservers for your domain whenever you want.
