special power supplies...

MarzEz
I recently recieved an old 800mhz IBM or something like that, and it has a slot for a 24 pin power input. Most power supplies have 20 pins, then a seperate 4 pin connection, but this just has them all in the one connection. The two standard plugs won't go side-by-side into the one slot, i've already tried. Anyone else heard of this? Question

This was quite common in the P4 days. It shouldn't be too hard to find a PSU with a 24 pin connector on it. They also make conversion cables that go 20 -> 24 pin so you can power a 24 mobo off a 20 supply. The second option is probably more viable for your purposes.

I actually have an older P4, the power supply I got has a special version of the 20 pin that allows the extra 4 pins to just snap onto the 20 pin part. Pretty spiffy.

You are probably better off just getting the converter cable, they are quite cheap.
