Airbus A380 India Visit

sush
The Airbus A380 was welcomed more than warmly into Indian Airspace and on land. It touched down at Delhi's IGI Airport on 6 May and today (8 May) at Mumbai's Domestic Airport (probably flew in from Delhi).

I had a chance to see the monster hovering in the skies on its final approach to land. I was at this place called Vashi (some 30km from the airport?) and this bighead was descending so so slowly it could almost stall and fall. But it didn't.

There was a big probe sticking out of its back - much like the pitot probes seen jetting out of jet plane noses, just much much larger. Any ideas what a probe could be doing at the giant's posterior?

Well i dont seem 2 find any probe sticking out of its tail section. Checked a lotta pictures. Showin u 1 for reference

You may have mistaken the APU exhaust and thought it 2 be a probe or It mat also be a static discharger, one of these are fitted at the end

I don't think there is a probe at the back. I've seen a lot of movies of the approach of an A380 and I've never seen a probe like you discribed. Don't you have a picture taken of it? Otherwise it will be possible stay a mistery...Wink
