Hey every body!

I have made a basic template in fireworks and attemped to code it.

Heres how I have done (Link below click it Smile

As you can see the bar with the tabs on do not touch the sides.

How could I make that bar touch.

Also is it badly coded as I have never made and coded a template before.

Surei will help... my i ask what programme you ued to create your website? and have you used layers or tables?

coz by telling me this it will be easier for me to give you a solution.... laters....

I used Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver to do it.

View the source and it is tables. (I heard divs are better but have no idea on how to do them)

ok have have noticed a few things... i was previously viewing your site in I.E (internet explorer) and your bar was centered now i view it in Firefox your bar is to the rights.. i would recoment that you make your site in layers... but dnt mix layers with tables use one or the other and if you need to use tables intert them into a layer...

soz i cnt be much help on the bar line itself...

on dreamweaver goto insert then layout objects.... on then layer.... and put stuff in it and place it where you want it and it will stay i the same place on any webage... and you can keep doing tat over and over again... but layers do overlap s you have to arrange them like you would pictures onmacromedia.. you now order selection.... ok well i am tiered and off to bed now.. but i will check this post out 2mo....

dont you think the buttons are a little too big??? and also try to add glassy effect. that would look gr8 on ur template.

I think the buttons are but when i asked my mates they said it was ok.

layers = divs.. just another name in dreamweaver.. but try to learn how to work with divs.. will help you out alot..

I spent all morning try this and this is what I have so far.

I have tested it in FF and IE and I think it looks ok.

But what I don't know how to do is them content boxes such as the nav parts in the template I made on the tables (Look at the links above) because of the divs are set to the position.

If you know how to do it or can you have a look at the code and see if its bad or what ever and if you think you could do the content things please do and post the code.

Dunno how u do in dreamweaver, I code everything by hand.. but I guess u just put new layers as you want your boxes to be.. I've only used dreamweaver in school (cause we had to) so don't remember much.. I can code it by hand tho, and it will take 10 minutes or something.. but that code wont fit with the dreamweaver code.. guess a dreamweaver expert (someone better then me) should help you with that part in dw..

if u decied to code by hand instead.. let me know and I'll hax it together in 2 hours tops... Very Happy

I only used dreamweaver as I have never done one of these before.

So if you would help me I would not mind doing it notepad or what ever.

and its looking good danielxp but layers are really easly contolled in dreamweaver when i get home i will screen shot my events and show you a basic way of contolling the HTML code of layers... Very Happy

but i would like t learn how to do php and stuff i only know HTML Sad

which is good to know really... but how do i make online forms? or is that just HTML?... Question
