To speed things up a bit, why not reduce or entirely eliminate the delay time on the page that comes up after you mark all topics within a section read. (Pages that end in vf-X.html&mark=topics).
Perhaps you'll remember my earlier suggestion of putting an additional link on that page. This might be easier and better though.
I don't really see the point of the delay; it gives you time to read the little message, but you already know what you just did, and even if you didn't know, it would become obvious by it's effects on the forum you are in at the moment.
Ideally, it would have the wait time set to 0, and the effect to the user would be that the unread topics instantly turn read as you click the link. I don't know about everyone else, but this would save me some time.
If you knew where to change it, it would probably be an easy one-line change. (Unless it uses the same delay time as the other messages of the kind, in such a way that changing one would change all the others. In that case it might be a bit more difficult, I suppose.)
