URL for Files

laurenrox
How would I figure out the URL for my files like images and other pages?
niranvv
Not getting you friend! What do you mean??
Are you designing some websites?
If the images are in the same directory, then u can use <img src=filename>

If the images are in some other directory under root directory ( say, images folder) then u can show the images like this:

<img src=images/filename>

Well I have some image files and stuff (like my website's banner) and I have them in the public html file. But you're saying I can just type the file name into the image source on the html?

What appears as /domains/yoursite.frih.net/public_html/ to you in DirectAdmin will appear as http://yoursite.frih.net/ on the internet.

ie., public_html becomes the root of your site.

Similarly :
public_html/index.html = http://yoursite.frih.net/index.html
public_html/images/image1.gif = http://yoursite.frih.net/images/image1.gif

etc.

You can also use relative paths for images and files within your pages.

Thanks, that was a big help. I was worried I would have to remember that whole domains/yoursite.frih.net/public_html/i'm_confused.html address. Lolz.

THANKS AGAIN!
