but I do not know what he is talking about
To add a template go to your ftp and click on Public html when you click on that find whever your forum is located. when you get into whever your forum is go to templates make sure you already have the template you want to put on your site. Then upload the template file into the template folder.
Go into public_html/templates
Upload the structure as the same. Don't rename anything.
Then go to ACP --> Styles admin --> Add

sorry to revive this, but it seems related.
Is the phpbb2 in fantastico better than the phpbb in cpanel?

Yeah, most likely yes. Fantastico is updated much more often than cpanel.

At the moment, they're both the same version (phpBB 2.0.17), so they should be the same. However, if a new phpBB version comes out, then the Fantastico one will probably be updated first (like Bondings said)
Both are bad
.
Okay, but if you only want to talk about this 2, Fantastico would be much better.
I still like manually uploading and installing doh..

gotcha. thanks for the quick response, all.
i've got a question...
I have an idea..about customizing the templates...but im not sure if im right..
so i need you opinion...
my idea is when you customize the template...the first thing you will change is the images from the "image folder" right...
by changing the color and images...and not the file name and format right?..
second is the css...changing the color scheme..to fit the images you've change..
IS THAT RIGHT?...

Hold on. You do mean something like this?
images/<color>/reply.jpg?
It requires alot of customization. If you really need me to help you, feel free to ask

no i mean
by changing the images at photoshop...but save it the same file name..
example...i ll change the color of the header.jpg to blue and save it again to header.jpg...with the different color..
Never heard of that. But try renaming the file ext?
It requires many steps to customize the whole template (I mean whole template's colour) , you have to change the image , edit the .tpl files in /forum/templates/yourtemplates . It is the same with making urself a whole new template .
But customizing the images only with same color is easier : just upload the image to /forum/templates/yourtemplates/images .
Hope this helps .

If you take one of the images of phpbb and change it in photoshop and then upload that file - it has to be the same file name, then the new image will show up, yes.

hehe lol see i have my idea right...
Yeah but I think thats more of 'fine-tuning'.
going through here http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/catdb.php?db=2 makes it faster.
