I have some problems with the image import from my camera!!!

I`ve been tryng to import my footage and its impossible... i dont know what is the ****** problem!!!
If someone can help me and tell me how can i import me footage from my jvc dv cam with the firewire i apriciate!!!

1) what operating system (comp specs)
2) do you have a working Firewire cable and port on your computer?
3) with what software were you using?
3a) if you use nero movie maker, or windows movie maker its jsut a matter of importing video and it will stream capture to your computer form the DV camera.
4) JVC DV cam's model number, and did it come with software? did you load the software, does your computer see that the JVC is a device on your system? ie. are drivers loaded for it to be recognised as either a mass sorage device or capture device.
