Write down here what is the best animation programs. I mean like the ones like Macromedia Flash 8 or Flash mx 2004.
What other programs like these that you can animate with?

If its 3d then,
3D Home or Maya. (I knew someone who was an expert in Maya)
hmm, I currently working on blender and maya.
blender is a very small in size but powerfull 3d animation app.
It's based on sub-div. so it work fast. ( ~ 20 mb in size )
and maya should be knew by all others.
I know what you're going to say, and before you start groaning let me just say that once you are on a roll with FLASH it is just superb. I am a little biased because i consider myself a total flash geek, but the skills you get from using it are valuable. For 3D animation I've only used lightwave, and though hard to get excited about, it offers quite good execution.
It really depends on what you mean by Animation. If you mean 3D, then I would go with Maya, 3DS Max, or Blender. If you mean 2D I would go with Adobe Photoshop, The GIMP, Flash 8 (or the newer version) or KToon (Linux).
The free for all stuff it's just to fall in love with it, the small size, just fine, and the great amount o'sfuff you can do with it simply got anybody who paid lot's o'money 4 3d's max F Nervous.... the right choice for those who are somehow alternative. That's my thougth only hummm

I just started using Corel Painter again - very nice. It is better for cartoons than 3D, but the onion skin effects (where you can trace the last frame) are the best.
You can try out a 30 day demo by downloading the software from corel.com.
It also has great integration with Wacom tablets.
