Hmm footballers i could maybe name emre (plays for newcastle) and er thats pretty much it.
Clubs ,i can think of fenerbache,besiktas,galatasary.. thats it really. as you can probably tell im not that well up on turkish football.

.we have a lot of romanian players in Turkey's championship ... Hagi and Popescu played for Galatasaray ... also Filipescu played for Fenerbahce ... Mircea Lucescu coached Besiktas ... and so on
Well, in European terms, only Fennerbache and Galatasaray can be called strong teams.

No No.Filipescu didn't play for Fenerbahce.He played for Galatasaray.
I'm Galatasaray's fan.
Fenerbahce's fans says "Fenerbahce is great club". But Fenerbahce is rigging all match.and (S)he is buying all referee.
Fenerbahce is 2006-2007 season's champion.But (S)he take 0 points in Champion League
But Galatasaray won UEFA 2000....

I always thought Galatasaray was the top team from Turkey...at least the most known team from Turkey.
i know galatasaray, fenerbahce, besiktas jk, trabzon sk, kayserispor, istanbul, es-es, rizespor, genclerbirligi, kasimpasha, duzcespor, boluspor, adana iron spor, antalyaspor, ... and many teams becouse i am froum Turkey

I think there are two teams are famous in Europe, both of which enters euro cup often. But I can not spell the specific name of them.
I only know Galatasaray and Fenerbahce
