1. Just google delphi tutorials.
2. Delphi is a download and a package. The package is the full version from Borland. The download is either a trial or a full (if you got a product key from Borland).

Personally, it's not hard to learn and the syntax much like english as basic language (such as visual basic ).

some segment:

to repeat execute some code:

Code:
while (condition)
begin
   [code-statement]
end;

Hope this help.

Delphi and VB are okay but you can never be sure if they will run on just about any computer, because they need tons of runtime support files. A better choice would be to use the trial version of the software above.

Under windows XP the system default autorun dialog is good enough if your CD contains properly sorted content (audio/video/images/whatever). Think about another thing - if you just want a menu to initially pop up, how is the user going to browse your CD and the files inside it? With Explorer? Why not have a whole menu structure for the CD.

Check out one of the CDs that come with magazines like Chip and Digit - they have webpages that link to the files on the CD, and you can always use a good HTML page as a menu for the CD contents. They also have something that they use for autorun - an app called start.exe that opens up an HTML page in the default web browser (full-screen). As good as a menu, plus no programming required.
