Burner problems

Could someone please explain to me how to fix a problem with my CD/DVD burner?
The thing is a LG burner with lightscribe it is somewhat new... not but about 5 months.
I put a blank CD in and it detects it as a disk with like 802MB... the disk only holds 700MB.
I know the disk is blank I tried like 10 different blank disk.
please help me out here.

Have you tried to upgrade your firmware? The problem may be caused byuafaulty firmware.

Updating firmware is risky but very rewarding.

But before you try to update your firm ware have you tried to insert the disk to another toaster? There are 800MB capacity blank CDs, atlthough rare, the one you have maybe one.

I haven't tried to update the firmware these disks are 700MB I put the same disk in my grandparents burner it showed up as blank.
I have two operating systems on it... even on the other OS it gave the same exact thing.
It's really weird.

wait a minute? disk with 802MB? Free space or used space?
what's your burner software (Nero or something like that)?
and what about if you burn something in that cd? some problems with that? If not, then that's not a problem, sometimes there's cds that had more than free space than it should ^^
