New Orleans

nuckalheads
The news say New Orleans is coming back strong.
Thats not true. Over half the people in New Orleans are still not home after hurricane Katrina in 2005. This place will never come back.
The place is a big mess.

Let me start by saying that I have no first hand knowledge of the rebuilding of New Orleans. However, maybe the news is simply acknowledging the steps that New Orleans have taken. I think parts of New Orleans have recovered quite well. I know that other parts are still desimated. I wish the people of New Orleans luck in putting the pieces of their lives back together. I also hope that people learn from this disaster that mother nature can still put us in our place. We should remember this when deciding to build homes and businesses in areas at such high risks.

what you said is true nuckalheads, at least 1,836 people lost their lives in Hurricane Katrina which isnt that far of from the amount of deaths from 9/11. on a financial scale the storm is estimated to have been responsible for $81.2 billion in damages, making it the costliest natural disaster in US history.

almost 2 years have passed and still a huge amount of people are suffering:

Quote:
'Katrina funk' running rampant
Mental health issues in New Orleans reach epidemic proportions.
