Who is really better, a lot of people say batman is better, other say superman, because of his powers which is which seriously?
Who is really better, a lot of people say batman is better, other say superman, because of his powers which is which seriously?
If batman and superman got into a fight batman would be victorious. Superman fanatics can cry " NO WAY. SUPERMAN WINS" all they want but it is fact that batman will win. WHY???? because batman carries cryptonite on his belt thats why. Only scenario I can think of that would allow Superman to become the winner would be if superman sucker punched batman for no reason without batman having any clue what was about to happen. I'm guessing 1 punch would pretty much kill batman. But if batman knew it was coming then superman would not stand a chance. All batman has to do is pull out the goods and its game over. On a side note. Batman can kick anybodies ass with his brains and ability to buy anything needed to get the job done.
This is no question. Mr. Superman will be the winner, because he is "imba". He has a body from steel and he can fly. This are two important advantages...
And what can Batman do? He could drive with his car away ...
Throughout the many years of comic, it seems like Batman has been the victor more times than Superman has. Like Mothman stated, Batman relies in his brain more than anything. Batman, for each backup plan he has, he has 5 more for each of those backup plans. Batman is also an excellent strategist and bluffer.
That is one flaw of Superman, he knows he is nearly invulnerable so he doesn't have to rely on his brain as much as Batman. Superman is able to dive head first into messes.
Superman's better because he has the courage to fly around in his underwear. ^_^ Jokes aside, I do like Superman better because he was more of a superhero for me...Batman depended mostly on his gadgets but he got pwned by the dude who stops trains and flies faster than a bullet.
You probably can't compare those two, superman and batman because superman has super powers while batman in only a human being with extra ordinary gadgets that helps him to take down bad guys..but since the only option as to whom is better, I think it's batman because even though he dont have any powers, his ability, speed and intelligence always brought him to victory..
Superman would win a fight but Batman could pick up more rock chicks
hhmm..i reckon batman.
does nobody here read replys?????? Superman cannot possibly win a fight against Batman.
let me emphasize this
BATMAN CARRIES CRYPTONITE
end of story.
side note- he carries cryptonite just in case Superman's brain gets hijacked by a vilian or if Superman just turns evil. Brains beats Brute Force any day. execpt bane. bane kicked batmans ass. execpt in the movie.
give superman a dose of cryptonite. i seriously doubt driving a car away from someone that is faster than a bullet will solve anything.
I go for Batman.
The fact that he is the only 'human' hero among the justice league, and the fact that he could do a lot of things other heroes CAN'T do, makes him one of a kind.
You have to admit, Batman rules them all in many aspects. Brains AND brawns.
Superman is better, because he simply got the best super powers. Comeon..he reflects bullets, shoots laser, heat vision, x-ray vision etc. His only weak spot is kryptonite, and how easy is it to lay your hands on that?
Batman on the other hand is way cooler than Superman and actually has a disguise (No, putting on glasses doesn't count as a disguise). He has an awesome car, an awesome bout and an awesome aeroplane. He also has one of the most gay partners in history and that makes Batman a clear winner.
Yeah exactly. Hell, Batman could kick Chuck Norris' ass given enough time and preperation.
Also guys, it's KRYPTONITE, with a K. You know, because he's from the planet Krypton (not Crypton.) Also Batman's kryptonite WAS given to him by Superman, just in case something ever happens to him and he turns against Truth, Justice, yadda yadda...
well, Superman can never die but betman not, so the story of the two have a mainly difference: Superman always struggle to off a trap to protect someone, but betman always need to save himself before his mission.
I don't understand a lot of what you wrote here (especially that last part.) And Superman CAN die, and in fact has died (OK, OK, fine he came back, but still...)
Batman's a ninja. Of course he's better.
For me Batman, aside from the Kryptonite he has. Batman is more plausible to the real world as in anyone can put on a costume and have cool gadgets as for Superman will nerver happen.
I still go for Batman. He is so smart he's way above the other heroes.
Batman has brains, Superman has force.
Brains > Force
End of discussion.
Ps. And I'm nacionalist, so, I go for Batman, because is human!
Ps2. I like Superman, too; I'm not racist...
Batman also has this, "I know what I'm talking about so you better listen to me' attitude, which evokes a lot of confidence and leadership status in the group. I'm not saying he is the leader but he can do anything even on his own. That makes him really great.
>.< Please understand! Batman WILL WIN!!! The only reason for superman wont win, is that his only powers is flying . . .
So Batman walks around with cryptonite....in his belt.
Well, I hate Superman, it is just an overpowered super hero (man of steel?) and all fancy in his tights and when he puts a pair of glasses BANG !! Clark Kent...OMG....what is wrong with all people in town? Can't they sum 1 plus 1 and notice that they are the same person?.
Whatever, Batman with cryptonite in his belt would surely win...and show to the city how dumb they are lol
I would have to say Batman. I'm not really a comic enthusiast, but from what i know, I've never seen batman having weak spots like superman has with kryptonite.
i prefer batman of coz. more realistic.
superman is better...
Batman had wings, but he can't fly
Superman would win, unless Batman was fast enough to draw the kryptonite out of his belt before Superman sucker-punched him. Seriously, both outcomes are plausible.
IT would be a tie, so no one wins, only the spectators/
Batman doesn't even have to draw it out. Unless he keeps it in a lead-lined pouch on his belt, the Kryptonite would effect Supes whether or not he pulled it out. And lets be honest, take away his super strength and flying, and Batman could SO own him in a New York minute.
Stumpled upon these a moment ago. Think they covers the most.
Hm, Batman has some good things:
He n robin was the gay worlds 2 great icons via the tv series.
That's not easy to beat.
Althougt: Superman was a socialist. He fought against rich people n other capitalist villans...
Hm... Gay or socialist, hm gay or socialist...
Now, Superman wins... I prefer to be a socialist...
Superman but i dont like all movies and comics of superman because he is too powerrful and he can do everything so he never has a great adversary
Superman wins in all categories of strength and power, but Batman's the mastermind behind the Leagues, isn't he? Superman brought them together, but Batman runs the show, with his technology and strategical know-how. They're both great people, but I think Batman is a better all-around hero.
Batman's a ninja.
I'm not sure. I say it depends on which one is more quick witted. ^_^ Which ever one is more tactical I think, because they over power eachother in different ablities. For instance;
Stength - superman
Logic - batman
speed - superman
has gadgets incase he's in trouble - batman.
It all entirely depends. ^_^
I'm not a big fan of DC Characters, but in this case, I'd have to say that Superman is definitely better. I don't know why, but his ability to fly and stuff is enough for me to say that he's better. Can Batman fly? NO! But still, its all about Spiderman! Sorry, I'm a Marvel fan.
Psh, Batman, of course.
He's just a normal human, who happens to be a gajillionmilliontrillionare, while Superman...
Man, Superman has SO MUCH ALIEN POWER that he makes a baby cry million miles away, but he always finds himself moaning and groaning when someone shows him a lame green glowing rock, and it doesn't have to be a piece of kryptonite. It could just be a hardened Nickolodeon's ....slime. ...thing. And he'll still react dramatically.
And then once Batman comes over and kicks who ever's ass that's making Superman cry, once that dude is weakened, he takes it over and wins the day.
And ever notice how he keeps ripping off his expensive suits everyday, just to save an ice cream truck on fire? Does anyone know how in the world he can keep affording all these new, expensive suits for him to rip off?
Batman. He's always asking Bruce Wane to let him burrow his suits, just to tare them off and let some random hobo on the streets to find it and wear it.
So not only is Batman supporting Superman, but he's also giving every unfortunate hobos a nice, ripped suits to wear for winter.
Hmmm... good question?!
I don't like Superman because he is big guy with tons of muscles and he wears pant on top(it always make me laugh) and he has super power. Superman isn't from Earth but from Krypton(or something like that) so he isn't a human.
Batman is a normal guy, he doesn't have super powers, but he has his car, suit and some weapons.
I like Batman. But it is hard to say who would win solo...
how can you compare one crimefighter that has no special powers with one who's special power makes him completely invincible unless to kryptonite?
I say superman because if i was smart i would be laser beaming everyone to death from a safe distance.
If you ask me, they are equal as Superman has the powers which give him a huge advantage but don't forget Batman even though absolutely normal has a very clever and shrewd mind. If both of them ended up fighting I think that eventually Batman will win if he has KRYPTONITE on him.
For me, I think Batman will win.
Superman has a weakness. Batman Doesn't have. I think.
This is just a question so I prefer to Batman. /heh
Batman will win!
Liked the pics very much!
Compared to Superman, Batman has a HUGE weakness... the fact that he's as fragile as the next human.
i don't want to compare the two. its not fair for both of them since their ability is designed to get alone with the setting and story.
maybe we can try another aspect, it terms of girls, superman is better.
in terms of outfit, both is okay since they used to wear underwear on top of their jeans. lol
I always thought superman was alil corny.. superhuman powers but his weakness is a green stone called kryptonite lol. My fav would goto Batman, better fighting skills and not as corny with that superman curl in his hair lol
Superman all the way. I mean, cmon, what would Batman do without his belt and other shit.
Superman is Superman, he is allways Superman. Batman donnes an outfit in order to become Batman. Make no mistake, Batman is cool, but he is not Superman. Thus Superman is superior.
Id say Batman, purely the fact that he looks so much cooler.. =/
superman..ughh. his outfit looks kinda dodgey.. although nice body figure, he seems quite boring.
In a fight, I guess Superman is the stronger and more powerful of the two. But I prefer the darkness of Batman over Superman if I want to read a comic.
As many have mentioned there's alway the argument that Batman isn't really a superhero, since he doesn't have any 'super' powers - he's just a well trained man. Whereas Superman has actual powers that make him superhuman.
If you want an answer straight from the comics (Dark Knight Returns):
Back during the Cold War, the Reagan administration deemed it politically expedient to stop Batman from cleaning up Gotham. Superman was sent to bring him in, and the two fought it out. Batman defeats Superman (through a combination of tactical positioning and modern technology) but appears to die of a heart attack.
At Bruce's funeral, Clark hears a faint heartbeat under the soil--Bruce faked his death with a pill.
So he really beat Superman on two counts--brains and brawn.
um...doesn't kryptonite start with a k? i could be wrong....but i swear that's how it's always been lol.
If Batman didn't carry it around, I think Superman would be the victor. Superman is just too strong with his insane powers. I always thought it was funny. If bullets cant hurt Superman, how come punching can? o_o But since Batman is only human...I think he's entitled to carry around his kryptonite haha. You have to do everything you can to even out the odds against you and your enemies. Batman does pretty decent for somebody who doesn't have supernatural abilities.
I prefer Batman over Superman anyways. We need a regular hero to protect us. Batman shows that everyone and anybody can be a hero, either in small or big ways. For the heroes with super abilities it's just mostly wishful thinking. I mean sure they use it for good, but look how many use it for evil also o_o Scary.
well seriously it is batman, he doesn't have weaknesses like superman does. and batman in strong because he worked at it. not because he is an alien like superman.
plus batman has a sweet ride, not to mention belt
there's sort of an unwritten rule in comics, give batman time and batman will kill you.
then again Batman's the representation of the "reversed many ninja rule", the stronger the foe, the stronger/smarter Batman is to face it and finally, defeating that enemy, but against a bunch of poorly paid henchmen, Bats's going to have serious problems...
totally batman. This thread reminded me of this the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76CS9z9kQ44
Batman duh, there's like...batmobil, batcaves...
To the batcave!
Depends if it was a spur of the moment fight Superman would shove the batmobil up batman's ass and then kick them both into up into the air, use his freezing breath and watch them shatter on impact when they reach ground again. On the other hand if Batman has a hour or so to prepare and use his ultra detectiving abilities to track down lex Luther, borrow a nice kryptonite stick and fashion a glowing green Batmarang out of it and shove that into superman's eyeball causing both massive hemorrhaging and power loss.
Winner Batman. because we all know Batman wouldn't allow a fight to happen. unless he set up where when how and why. because with his ultra detective skills he would find out somehow that Superman has his outside underwear in a wad over something to cause them to fight.
(for the record I know detectiving isnt a word)
Personally I prefer Batman.
He's smarter and even if the enemy is stronger, he finds the way to defeat him.
Superman doesn't look like a really smart hero
Batman is SO better than Superman! Batman is a real actual cartoon with a story! Batman has an awesome sidekick Robin, and a real enemy The Joker. I can't even remember any of Superman's enemies.
Superman was born a superhero, but Batman trained in martial arts and became a superhero.
He's Bruce Wayne until he decides to put on his costume and save the day!
i think both are good.
I would say Batman!
I chose Batman because i like the fact that his heroism has been earned by him.
However, Superman is just an Alien who becomes a hero due to his inherited powers. If Superman were to be in his own planet, chances of he becoming a hero are rare.
Superman would own Batman, hands own! The only way that Batman could beat Superman is with Kryptonite. Superman could use an nearly any one of his powers on Batman and demolish him.
To be fair...A lot of Batman's heroic ability was about as earned as his money.
Yes, he's incredibly intelligent and strong, and that's come from hard work. But he'd be nowhere without his gadgets, aka, his wealth.
Now you really want to talk about true heroism, you need to talk about Spiderman...kid is dirt poor, lost his parents, lost his second father figure, worked hard to get himself through college in spite of that, and the whole city absolutely hates him.
He has no reason to keep being a hero but he does it anyway.
(Kind of an idiot, mm?)
I would say Superman!
I chose Superman because i like its storyboard.....
It maybe very fantasy but just for funny, better watch Superman...Batman story need us to think how it story play, because it use more brain than Superman....
Just to release tension....not to add tension....
batman is the best!
he don't have any super power!
he uses he brain!
he shoukd the model for the world!!!
Bruce...I mean Batman would easily take superman down. he;s always got a dose for kryptonite the green chronic in his belt. Also in one of the justice league episodes he had a file on all the members on how to take them done, you know just in case he ever needed to. So i think Batman owns, also because of his car xD
I love discussions like this. I used to own a comic book store and would hear this all the time.
Fact is, according to DC lore if Batman was prepared he would win. He would find the weakness, in this case Kryptonite and do whatever was necessary to get the job done.
If Superman just sucker-punched him old Bruce would be toast, but if you notice, Batman doesn't stand within arm's reach of Superman very often.
Batman would probably just innovate a Kryptonite mist, and spray the entire battle area with the crap
Superman is better because he has more powers than just fancy gadgets and fat bank account.
Well, if you think about it, Superman never really did anything to become what he is. No effort.
Batman, though, has been specifically trained for what he does, and has earned his respect and heroism from that. From what I see, he has worked a lot harder than many would think.
People seriously need to read the disscusion in the works and base an intelligent response off from that.
ok superman is a chump hes a nobody on his homeplanet the only reason why he has powers is from earths sun. btman has no powers and he still kicks ass on his home planet so what now
i would root for batman xd, as stated on most posters here, he uses his brain to fight, while superman may use his brain in a fight, but relies more on his superpowers, chances are batman knows what superman's weakness is, so its game over
Depends what you mean by "better". If you mean who is stronger, then Superman wins hands down, but only if he is near enough to the Sun.
But if you mean who has more skill, I would say Batman since he has no powers and relies on his other attributes, such as intelligence, to overcome his oppenents. Withouot his belt, Batman would still put up a good fight, but if Superman didn't have powers, he'd be pretty ordinary. If Batman had his belt and Superman had his powers, then I'd think Batman would win. He probably has kryptonite grenades and rockets on belt
..batman is better than superman.. batman is smarter than superman.. LOL
Mothmann has it right, there is no way that super man would win unless super man did it without batman knowing. although it appears that super man can survive death....
batman is a real person and plays sometimes batman
superman is a real hero and plays a news-paper guy
BATMAN!!!!! he is the best. He'll beat superman any day with all his crimefighting tools
Batman of course! Superman is gay, Batman will just stick a kryptonite up his ass.
With de cliptonite Batman off course
Superman and Batman! ITs a tie
i don't think that anyone can really say that one is better than the other. they just seem to cancel each other out in a fight, and everything else too.
Even without kryptonite, Batman would still win. You know why? Coz he's the goddamn BATMAN!
When it comes to super powers, of course it's superman. It's the product of human imagination, so it can be as great as a human's mind.
Batman is more realistic. Some of his tools are attainable, or maybe all of it.
So, it's just a matter of realism and fiction.
For me, Batman is better. Films can be entertaining and realistic at the same time of course. It gives the idea that some people are still good and willing to help.
Batman is a walking "deus ex machina". He has every answer to any situation in his belt.
In either case, has anyone seen the DC Universe trailer? This is some crazy stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lGTfK4PmPw
I'm more on marvel than DC but I think Batman can win if he carry a cryptonite rock like the other post said.
Both of them would end in a stalemate and no one would win a fight, they are both equally good, although they would most likely not fight at all since they are both good guys, (unless you are talking about that trash that is batman the brave and the bold), and try to not fight everything.
PS: The Hulk would burst onto the battlefield and kill them both in one big smash when they were not paying attention.
Neither one of them. Spiderman is better!
Actually that's really quite personal. Both of the two movie series are perfect.
Don't really like Batman so i would probably hope for Superman wining!!
PS: Watching Smallville, so definetaly would want Superman to winn!!!
Superman wins unless Batman use Cryptonite. Batman would probably use it since he is smart enough to know without Cryptonite he has no chance.
batman would always be the best since my childhood days batman will i say forever!
Actually in the latest issue of DC comics's Superman/Batman series ( #78 ). The issue was resolved when both superman and batman watched two boys argue on who would win a deathmatch between them. It was concluded that it would be stalemate. And batman pointed out that the boy actually made sense with its argument that batman has a way to kill superman without the use of kryptonite.
the 1st post here says'
If batman and superman got into a fight batman would be victorious. Superman fanatics can cry " NO WAY. SUPERMAN WINS" all they want but it is fact that batman will win. WHY???? because batman carries Cryptozoic on his belt that's why.
I dont know who is better, but batman is much cooler.
He is smashing all the bad guys without any special powers!!!
good anime THANK YOU
not batman not superman
I'm ending this, neither one wins--everyone loses:
whoa, that was awesome. well, i'd have to say that superman takes the prize for "epic factor." batman wins for "grittiness factor."
obviously theyred tied, if smeone were t make a comic out of it, superman one hits batman with his eye beam, while batman shoots him with a machine gun of kryptonite and they both die.. xp
I don't think superman can die. But batman is human and can die. Batman can only win superman if he is able to sneak up on him and put krypton on him. But superman could kill batman with a single blow, or with his lasers. So, I think batman has a slimmer chance of winning.
LOL. alternate superman can die, but can the real one?
The intelligence always win brute force.
So, Batman wins!!!!
i prefer batman....even though he can't fly....
Because he use his brain to take action.
He look smart than superman.
Now i'm playing Batman Arkham Asylum.
The constant struggle with Superman is to restrain him in what he can do, because he has been given a ridiculous number of powers. I read an article years ago that argued that Superman was redundant, as he was the outsider coming in and saving humanity, which doesn't implicitly inspire the audience to anything - the fact that Superman can do it doesn't imply anything about what you as a human are capable of.
I'm not entirely sure whether I agree or not, but it's stuck with me.
Batman is the other extreme. Having no super powers, he is the vigilante with money, technology and training, or possibly some variation depending on which particular point in continuity you're finding him at.
You're emphasizing Superman's one weakness vs. Batman's thousands (just for being human).
It is Batman who'd have to sucker punch Superman with his kryptonite. Superman knows Batman carries kryptonite. Batman would have to manage to hit a man with it who can fly faster than sound, and in some incarnations faster than light.
Superman doesn't have to get anywhere near Batman to kill him. Superman could be miles away and snap his fingers, sending a bottle cap through Batman's brain. He could drop a house on him. Superman could irradiate Batman with many more materials than one. Plutonium, uranium - the list goes on. He could come up through the ground or through the air and snap Batman's neck before Batman could even flinch.
Batman has even admitted it. They've had several fights and after winning one fight he said that he could never beat Superman except for one thing: That Superman is too good. He'd never try to kill Batman. But Batman is not that good.
I like Batman, but the truth is, he would never have a chance.
There, someone read your reply.
It would be no compitition. Batman would win strait up. Batman always carries kryptonyte on his belt! And i personly think batman can take hits better than superman. But i got to give superman prompts for trying though.
Superman is a geek.
Batman is cool.
Batman is smart.
Superman can fly.
Batman has a sidekick.
Superman is forever alone.
Batman is the best. <3
For indeed the man this year bat light speed and super strength powers estraordinarios ..
If ever we have heroes that use brute force and destroy everything ... best that the world is not saved ...
Batman for life
movie is just movie.
Who would win? Superman. The problem for the writers with Superman is trying to limit what he can do. The question people have with Batman is how he can do what he does without superpowers.
Who would you rather be? Depends which version of Batman you're talking about. Batman vs Superman could be just a choice of which traumatic past you'd rather have.
I was just googling this question randomly out of boredom. Actually, I was googling "Who is smarter." I can't say I'm shocked at the puerile attempts at voicing opinions that I've encountered (it's a f*cking kids comic book after all), but it is all a bit disheartening.
The logic seems to flow like this: "Batman has cryptonite [sic], therefore he would win." "Superman is awesome, therefore he would win."
Quite frankly, although the former argument would seem to have at least made a stab at logic I'm going to have to agree with the deceptively simplistic justifications behind door number 2. Why? Because kryptonite has yet to kill Superman. Think about it. He's died once and it wasn't by kryptonite. Now you could technically argue that many Supermen across different earths have died (Earth 2 Superman notably was supposed to have been the hero of many earlier Superman comics), but only ONCE did a Superman die who was the titular character of an ongoing popular series and not a one-shot, a cameo, or an alternate universe. And he wasn't killed by kryptonite. He was killed by blunt force trauma at the hands of Doomsday.
One of you wrote:
By the way, don't you guys get those squiggly little red lines underneath words when you type? It means something's amiss in your spelling. You should check it out. The occasional typo is to be forgiven, but reading some of these posts is hard on the eyes.
But back to the quote above. You yourself point out that in comic books there's an exception to everything. I hate to break it to you, but brute force not only gave Batman a hernia, it also killed Superman. There's no doubt that Superman was smarter than Doomsday, but as hard as he tried to out-maneuver the Big D, he had to ultimately rely on punches. The result being that they both died. If Batman had gone up against Doomsday... well, he didn't. And he wouldn't. He'd just try to lure Doomsday out somewhere closer to Superman. And if that didn't work, he'd just pray Superman showed up in time or that Doomsday's 'roid rage lead to an instantaneous heart-attack.
Superman has been exposed to kryptonite many, many times. Much more often than Mary Curie was ever exposed to uranium. Can you imagine how many shots of a radioactive element Batman could take dressed in nothing more than Spandex? Let's say he got exposed once for about a minute. That would be enough to cause him to develop a potentially lethal cancer.
Someone else wrote:
Yes, I'm sure. And take away Johnny Depp's good looks and acting ability and we've got you. A lead-lined pouch. You're darn tootin' he's got it in a lead-lined pouch. You do realize they hang out together, right? Batman does indeed have to "pull it out" from under his belt in order to bring Superman to his knees.
One of the recurring themes that one encounters in this sort of debate is an utter reliance on "The Dark Knight Returns." I'll bite my lip on my opinion of Mr. Miller's contribution to the Batman lore (suffice it to say that the Bob Kane - Batman's own daddy - hated The DKR), but a lot of people seem to be confused in thinking Batman kills Superman in this comic book. He doesn't. And even if he did, it wouldn't count as it's set in some alternate universe somewhere far up the ass of one Mr. Miller.
Also, we have the issue of "prep time." God, how that phrase irks me. Pit Batman against anyone who could wipe the floor with him (do it. I dare you. Google "Batman vs Doomsday" or even Darkseid.) and you invariably hear the phrase "prep time" uttered a million times. "Well, how much prep time does Batman get?" As if that's all Batman needs. He's not a f*cking master chef! He's a goddamn vigilante - er, I mean, "hero." This isn't the Food Network, folks, he's not trying to defeat Gordon Ramsay. Hell, give me enough prep time and I can beat Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen. Say I freeze time and study for twenty years. You think Superman couldn't defeat Doomsday given enough "prep time"?
So Doomsday beats Batman and Superman and Doomsday (at least at first) cancel each other out, but Batman beats Superman. Let's work this out mathematically.
Doesn't really work, does it? Oh, but wait. Prep time. That's right.
And although technically speaking there is nothing greater than infinity, we can still using the single miracle rule of comic books to state:
So Batman beats everything given enough "prep time." Never mind that he is, theoretically, a finite being with only so much time on his hands. And believe me, put up against some of the intergalactic baddies Superman has to worry about while shoving planets out of their orbit in lieu of push-ups, he would quickly be reminded of how finite his time really is.
It's obvious that the roles of Superman and Batman have changed greatly over the years. Whereas Bats was originally the upstanding citizen fighting crime wherever it dwelled, Superman was the nerd's secret dream. Batman was rich and classy, but with a tragic past that made him relate to the common man and adopt a poor orphan to invite on the adventure of a lifetime (who the f-- does that anyway? Batman has got to be the most irresponsible grown up on earth. You'd think after having one of his sidekicks beat to death he'd learn his lesson, but instead he goes out and gets a younger one to replace him?). Oh, well. Still, everyone would wish Batman was their dad. Superman on the other hand was an outward nerd who couldn't get the girl and had brains that did him no good. But when no one was looking his inner self was revealed and he was the coolest guy on earth. He could beat up the bullies. He could save the girl and sweep her off her feet. He was everything the nerd wished he was and knew that deep down, symbolically speaking, he was. Just that no one could see it. Not even the people closest to him who were supposed to be his friends. That's the reality behind it. Clark Kent is supposed to be such a nobody that his coworkers don't even see he's obviously Superman.
But that was then.
Now the tables are turned and Superman is the jock's superhero. Professional athletes sport Superman tattoos. His powers have been blown so out of proportion that he has become a god. He doesn't just beat up bullies in alleys anymore. He commands armies of superheroes and fights wars. There's nothing Superman can't do and his biggest issue is how he can relate to the little man. Whereas once he was an outcast in the form of Clark Kent and an alien who just wanted to fit in, now we have a superior being all too aware of how great he is and trying not to step on the ants.
Batman on the other hand has become the new superhero for nerds. Not truly. Not like Spiderman who has a lot more in common with most kids, but merely in comparison to Superman. Batman has become the badass. He's a "regular guy" fanboys will tell you. But he dresses in black. Cool. Like in the Matrix. He doesn't have any inherited superpowers. He only uses his brain. Of course they gloss over the fact that his abilities are just as inherited as Superman's. Stephen Hawking doesn't have a Bat Computer or a fancy car. He barely has a voice box from the 80s. If Batman were really the self-made man some of his fans claim him to be, he'd be Steel. Or Lex Luthor. Or Adrian Veidt. Traveling the world in search of king fu masters and escape artists doesn't come cheap, you know. Most kids can barely afford to take a year off from college and backpack around in Amsterdam.
While Superman used to be what nerds saw themselves as in their secret inner-worlds, Batman is now what nerds feel they CAN be. Why? Simply because they can't be Superman. Superman belongs to Shaq (who played another Superman wannabe Steel, interestingly enough). Superman belongs to guys who are born tall or muscular. Guys who are good at football. But Batman! Batman dresses all in black! Batman knows karate. Batman is a ninja. I can't count the number of times some idiot has said, probably even on this page, "Superman isn't real, but Batman could exist in the real world."
Ninjas aren't real kids.
Neither are utility belts with radiation proof pockets dangerously close to your junk, ropes and boomerangs and cannisters of shark-repellent spray.
You wear a costume like that and you get your ass kicked.
The last four actors to play Batman couldn't even turn their heads in that costume. Yeah, that's gritty realism for you.
The chances of there being anything close to a real Batman are, to borrow a comment I once read on Youtube, about as slim as there being a "real" Hellboy.
In conclusion, all that set aside, all the inferiority hang ups about who is human and who isn't, who's a regular guy and who isn't - Superman could kick Batman's ass. Because he's faster. He's stronger. He's smarter (yes, get over it, I'm talking about straight up IQ. Intelligence quotient. Superior kryptonian intelligence, eidetic memory, the ability to read a thousand books an hour and intimate knowledge of technology way above any earthling's head.) And don't give me that bull about "depends on how you define intelligence." That's like the fledgling artist who looks upon a master painting from a rival and says, "Yes, it's technically brilliant I guess, but I fear you don't have a TRUE appreciation of beauty" thus bringing everything squarely into the court of subjectivity as defined by the whiner-in-chief. Guess what, I hate to break it to you, but intelligence is a physical characteristic. And you can increase it, just like you can any other muscle.
So where was I? Oh, yes, faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, with the brains to design an even better building after he's "bounded" it. Oh, yeah, and the bird or plane thing. He's got all these other ridiculous powers. He even has kryptonian technology brought him back from the dead after the Doomsday incident. I mean, let's get real, proverbially speaking, there's no Lazarus Pit in the Bat Cave. But the Fortress of Solitude does. The fortress is a way better man cave than the Batcave, by the way. It even has something like a holo-deck in it.
Look, I don't blame anyone for rooting for Batman in this case. Even I hate Superman after reading the above paragraph. But that's the writers' fault. They've suped him up too much. They just don't know what to do with him. I'm sure a lot of them feel the way you do. That's why they continually portray Batman as smarter despite the physical logic of their universe demanding that Kal-El's super intellect should trump Bruce Wayne's crash course in the college of hard knocks. Next you'll be telling me that Batman is smarter than Brainiac.
Now as to whether Superman's belief that people are inherently good vs. Batman's belief (he didn't always think this way) that everyone is a steaming pile of sh-- at heart is a weakness (another common argument in favor of Batman) is a matter for comic book philosophers to debate. My only take on it is that in the West we've been too influenced by the Judeo-Christian belief in original sin and its influence on the common misconception of what entropy really is. But bear in mind that in comic books no matter how much evil seems to triumph the Blackest Night is always followed by the Brightest Day (thank you Wikipedia!). So there must be something to Supe's belief that good triumphs over evil whether in the universe or in an individual's soul. If he didn't believe this he would've snapped and killed everyone, Batman included, by now. Weakness? Thank goodness.
I'll let one of you finish this for me.
And someone read and re-posted yours.
Oh, well, all in all it is comic books. The real truth is that no superhero ever dies. They just disappear for a while.
And so, this entire post is my way of saying that the most logical answer is, "Superman is awesome, therefore he would win."
And just for fun (because of the end):
Marvel DC Crossover!
Probably batman will win, he got a a lot of tricks, studying his opponents weaknesses creating his own gadget or equipment to defeat his opponent, superman have a obviously weakness the criptonite that's why batman can easily defeat superman if he wants but then again they're both superheroes and a member of justice league. Batman is smart at all..
ofcourse superman will win he got amazing powers which can't describe espescially the laser eyes
Ninjas are real.
Batman? Superman? I don't care.
But ninjas are real.
So are boomerangs.
Batman can fight without the Sun. Superman can't.
Superman is better.
Batman was almost defeated by Joker. But the Superman never had formidable opponent like the Joker. Maybe Batman is better then.
Well who cares who is better.
Formidable opponents? Superman actually has tons of them. In fact, one of them successfully killed Superman.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Death_of_Superman
Superman is better
It is one of those questions that greatly depend upon the circumstances, since either could potentially win, both have defeated great enemies and both prefer not to kill, so deadly force would probably not be involved. Also if batman had time to plan ahead he might win, but if it is a spur of the moment kind of deal I doubt that batman carries kryptonite on his person at all times.
In case of which one is better I would say if the fight is for killing superman will absolutely be better than batman because he is superman indeed.
But if the fight is for winning batman proved that he is better than superman considering the fight is taking place on planet earth. LOL
Of course it's superman, batman just have gadgets and money unlike superman who has super powers.
well superman is better coz he's immortal while batman has a utility belt
i think wolverine is the most okay of them all.
Sadly, Superman would probably win. My favorite is Batman though. ;w;
I can't imagine Batman and Superman being in competition with one another, particularly since they both are "defenders" of the innocent against the world's baddies. I would rather imagine them to be partners and a double force against those baddies.
superman cos batman is superman uncle and superman still young
I think superman was the preferable when I was a kid.
The 60s batman series was more delicate made than any superman stuff on the screen.
We read both
and we watch movies with both.
But we expect the new movie with Batman and Superman.
Superman's better because he has the courage to fly around in his underwear.
Batman is on the road during the night
and he has a lot of problems with women.
Does this make he or Superman better?
Batman will definitely win!!!
He has all his tech toys and I am pretty sure he could get his hands around some Kryptonite and then Superman will stand no chance ...
