The original military model is nice, but the others have the dubious distinction of being some of the most expensive cheap knockoffs ever.

If you like power, get a F-350 for $50,000 which will outpull and out carry your $100,000 Hummer.
If it's the off-road capability you like, get a Jeep. (Also much cheaper, and with a modest lift kit, it can do much better off-road than a Hummer.)
If it's the size you like, try the ford excursion or chevrolet suburban. (I'd recommend the suburban)
If you absolutely must have one, then get the original style, which actually does have good performance and durability, instead of just looking like it does.
Sickness
I find the H2 more brutal than the others, so I prefer it.

I find 'em a bit wussie...that's my opinion...especially about the latest releases.
I like the military version too. It's big and powerful. It is a smaller truck.
The latest versions are getting narrower and smaller better for city traffic, but when you say Hummer, you mean force, aggression... I don't understand why they are making off-road (looking) cars designed for city roads. I saw a WV Touareg trying to go up a hill....and trying, and trying until it was winched up by a real off-road car.

I think the original military hummer is ok, but the H2 and H3 are a complete load of bollocks.

I think the H2 is gross, but the H3 looks kinda nice in my opinion. But I voted for "other" because, well, there are a lot of other cars out there.

I'll have to agree with ocalhoun. The original Hummer was outstanding, but the H2, and definitely the H3, are nothing. I mean, I'd be OK with an H2, but I consider the engine underpowered. H3, let's not even go there. 325 horsepower! I find that way too low for a car like this. Sure, it's not bad at all, but for a car like this... The upcoming Lexus LX570, a high end luxury SUV has a more powerful engine (381 horsepower) than a car that's meant to go off road. For true power, the Dodge Ram SRT-10's 500 horses would crush this. And I still prefer Jeeps for off road. The Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 6.1 Liter Hemi would crush Hummer.

Generally for vehicles this size hp is really not an accurate measure of power, for example my bosses 12(ish) tonne box truck has an intercooled turbo diesol nissan straight 6 (around 12L i believe) that only has around 350hp, but has 1200+ ft/lbs of torque.
