driver save&restore?

Hi there.
I want to setup WinXP again. Unfortunately I lost many of the driver CDs.
Is there a way to save the drivers that are already on the pc and restore them after installing XP? Like copying the folder "inf" oder "drivers"?

Well, what you could do is download ZIPs from the internet of the drivers you need. If you can't find a driver, you can try to pinpoint the driver in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers, but I must warn you the drivers don't have the most clear names out there.

Yeah. What if I copy the whole folder? Not only single files. Would that cause a problem?

It finds the drivers hidden into INF files and shows them to you within a list.
You can backup, update and/or restore them as much as you desire! Smile

The only bad news is that it's not freeware.
