so i suppose that i just find this funny being from california where everyone has a car and drives it just to go to the corner store. But i guess in New York this is not the case. Such as the case as the couple that was moving from New York to Arizona. Aparently the elderly couple didnot wish to have thier cats held in an airline cargo hold, so they hailed down a cab. For just over $1.00 per mile plus food and lodging the couple and thier cats enjoyed a nice chaufered SUV ride across country. I wonder what the couple is going to do in Arizona, ride the muni bus?

Looks like the taxi driver got a great deal. $3,000 a day + gas + meals + lodging. But what about the way back. I wonder if anybody in Arizona would buy a ride to New York so that the cab driver could make money with the ride back.
Oh, be fair... they're retiring... and they have a bit of cash to spend.
I think it's good if the cab driver is happy and they are happy.
It does sound a bit crazy, but it is obviously an arrangement that is good for both parties.
This should go in the Hobbies and Animals forum, because these people are obviously obsessed with their cat. I would never spend that much money on any pet. Besides, mine's an evil cat

Pampoon Hmm... that really is weird news. I suppose since they've retired and had the money to spend, it's their perogative how they spend their money. The taxi drive certainly scored!

Absolutely crazy. Why in God's name would anyone spend so much money on an animal? With that amount of cash, they could buy an entire city's worth of cat's and take care of them with their own pampered little house. Rich people!
I m not really surprised, some people are ready to spend thousand on clothes, jewellerie, shampoo, manucure and god knows what on their over pampered pets... it's ridiculous but that s the way it is.
They didnt hurt any one, they had a nice ride with kitty...
I would love to be driven across the country too!
For what they spent on the trip they could have bought their own car and even afforded the gas, then afterward, if they didn't want to keep the car they could sell it.
