Does anyone on this forum have a hovercraft? If anyone has, I'd love you to post some photos or something because I reckon hovercrafts are the coolest way to get around
.

Several years back I did some experimenting with hover craft design when I was coming up with a recon Robot Platform.
I made one successful platform. It was pretty easy. Pretty fun too.
I have always been interested in getting ahold of a full sized hover craft if I can find one. But the only ones I have found needed too much work to get going.

The reason I'm interested in hovercrafts is because one of our neighbours that has now moved is a real mechanic enthusiast. He owned two full-sized hovercrafts, one that needed assembling and another one that worked fine.
Unfortunately he never offered me a ride
. I think he had to sell the unassembled hovercraft, too.

if hovercrafts exist then I want them to make some hover shoes. ****** walking, that's my motto.
I was gonna buy one on craigslist a week or so back. It was a real hovercraft. I designed some home made ones while I was out in school, but having an actual hovercraft would have been pretty cool.
They're fairly easy to make if you have some time and a little bit of engineering skill. A fun project for you and your friends.

I used to have a hovercraft. It was one of those that just uses a motor from a vacume. One of those "built it your self" things. Not for travel, just for fun. Some friends and I got drunk and drove it into a lake, sucks. It was fun while it lasted.
Think im now going to save up for the materials and build my own hover craft it will be great. and i will post pictures, well thats if i get around to doing it anyway but after my A levels i will try and make one

I dont think thats technically possible. Atleast in the coming 20 yrs
yeah, hovercrafts are great fun...until you hit a grate or drain and break your neck and your new ten million dollar hovercraft...
No, but I guess those things are really cool and pretty fast as well and you can use them on water and on land... Once I had a model one which was a lot of fun...
lol... hey im sure its possible to build some hover boots...
but itll prolly be illegal tho haha... ppl crashing into walls and hahaha! itll be awesome.

regarding the hover craft shoes..i think that's not highly impossible. it could be possible. and im thinking of different ways at the moment. but that was a good idea!
The closest ive been to a hovercraft is a jetski in the water and flying off a ramp on my bike on the road, but a hovercraft would be cool, but it would be expensive.
Would be a cool way of gettings through the motorway, hover over the other cars
i built a hovercraft in high school using plywood, 5 mm nylon sheeting, some caulking adhesive, and a leaf blower engine. It was very easy to build and a great deal of fun. I believe there are several kits you could find on the internet that convert boats into hovercrafts. You all might be interested in the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) which is used by the military. These ones are really big and really fast.
I hope that people make more hovercrafts and put them up for sell so everyone could have one
i know of one and its at one of the fire departments around here... they use it in the winter when the rescue van cant go out. and to get across a lake quickly.. its cool tho ide love to try and design one ..get it up and floating around. that or a hot air balloon.. one of those two lol
