I will try to spread my musical taste as best I can, and eventually maybe we can get back on track with this modern era of music..... It's all gone down hill since the 90's

Heart Ticket, since you like DragonForce, you may also want to check out Symphony X. They're a very popular progressive metal band that relies heavily on guitar and keyboard. You can download a bunch of their songs from their official site, here: http://www.symphonyx.com/audio.html

Firewind are an excellent band. First of all, Metallica, Slipknot and Dragonforce are not gothic or punk, they are metal. Big difference.

That aside, check out my band www.myspace.com/hybridillusion (we are metal).

Also try looking at Mercenary, Nevermore, Breaking Benjamin (Hard Rock/Alt Metal), Mudvayne, Lordi and Cog.
