Visual Basic .exes and wine?? Simple question.

Dougie1
Will they be able to run in wine?

Thanks.

wine is supposed to run all the windows-based programs. It is programmed to run windows based executable files, which means visual basic exes will be no problem. I never tried before, though.

Yeah. The only problem might be that you need the .NET framework to run Visual Basic programmes so I don't really know if it would work. I might try it out but last time I tried to run wine on PC Linux OS it didn't like it.

.NET framework is required only to run .NET applications. Other VB applications will requires VB runtimes dll. Both can be installed using wine.
