tips on getting stuff done.

What tips do you have for self discipline?

I do stuff fast, but it takes me a bit to get started (read: procrastination).
Gots a maths assessment on thursday and i'm a bit behind. What could I do to pick up slack? Cause I usually end up doing everything on the last day and manage a 90% and stay up until 2.

Cheers.

It hard to say but if you get the things you do to be fun or interesting it is more easy. The best way to get it that way is to work and be good at it. Wink

If I shut off every electronic and start working I can usually sit down and focus on something I need to get done.

Something that works for me is to make a list. I do it daily and AFTER I make the list I rank the items 1 for has to be done today, 2 for things helpful to get done today, 3 for things to do if I have the time and inclination. Just having that list works for me and even if I only get the 1s done, well, that is what HAD to get done.

It really seems to help me from feeling like there is so much to do that I don't know where to start. I just start at the "ones".

Yeah I second that. If I have a lot of stuff to do I make a to-do list and eventually I will do everything on it. As for when it is for something like an exam I just try (usually in failure) to study ahead of time.

Prioritise stuff. Do the important stuff first whether you like it or not.

If you've got a lot to do and can't decide what's the most important to do first just stack it up and reward yourself with a fun task for every couple (or whatever) of no-fun tasks.

How about, only do the things you are interested in, hence one would never need the motivation to start. Just a thought.
