User FTP to WebSite

Hi

My domain is udopage.com. I am learning to use DirectAdmin and have created a FTP user account. In this trial the user I created is called missy.

What will the default remote directory be for missy?

I think that's all I need to get right

Also what will the URL be I need to use to browse to one of missy's pages..?

Well since you created the FTP account for Missy to login, now need to direct missy FTP account to the folder or part on the server where you would like missy to upload the files to ( or if missy has access the main directory then missy would upload to her dir) if you have created a sub domain for Missy you can access her site by

Web page link with my FTP problem

http://udopage.com/udopage_49.php

User name : missy

password : missypass

confirm pass : missypass

DOMAIN - this will give missy the ftp access you have

FTP - this will only allow missy to use FTP but the data cannot be access by
web only by FTP.

USER - this will give missy a folder in your PUBLIC_HTML and it can be access by the web as site.com/mizzy-folder if you made her a sub domain you can set this folder as the main dir for it. It also will give missy FTP access to this directory.

CUSTOM -

Create a folder for missy in public_html

choose this setting and put this in the text

/home/possum/**name of missy folder**

then missy can login in with the FTP address as you the only thing diffrent would be missy has a user name and password which links to missy directory

*****FTP CLIENT****

When missy logins missy would automatically login to the missy folder as default unless missy has the main directory access

the advanced setting is not really needed all missy would need is

host name

user name

password

it should work i downloaded it and tried it myself, the advanced setting are not needed you already would define the directory for missy to login to when you created the FTP name

by the way the filezilla FTP client is version 2.2.31
