Submitting your website to search engines is not a good idea to do and certainly not if you do it automatically. They all seem to be search engines, but beware if there is a FFA link farm you get submitted to. It will do more bad than good for the SE.
In fact, search engines should be able to find you on the internet. Either in a directory (not Free For All, of course), a link in a text (better) or in a signature. The better the page you get a link from, the better for you.
Here are a few good forums about Search Engine Optimisation and websites in general that I have bookmarked and that I read daily. You may always ask questions to me, of course. I will be glad to answer them!

Cool, thanks for the info, i've only submitted my other site to search engines not my site hosted here yet, i've only posted that a few places. But i'll take in what you said!! and read up on them sites.

This one is not that bad, at least I hope so. Normally google won't pay too much attention to FFA links because they know that competitors may place your website there too, but if all your links are FFA, I don't think they'll like it.
Just try to get as many links as possible from related websites. One-way links are the best, but link exchanges aren't bad either.

So if I just put my one site url on there, it isnt a problem?
For my site, I found out a link exchange program worked the best !
Also making a original site without many errors and good unique metatags work good for higher ranks in search engines !

I would only submit my site to the major search engines, just t be safe. And is it true that if you submit more than once, google sees it as spam and ignores your site for submission in the databse, or should you submit all your site pages like: www.sitename.com/index.php, www.sitename.com/page2.php etc..
