At a press conference earlier today, it was announced that WrestleMania 24 will take place at Orlando’s famed Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium, marking just the second time in history that sports-entertainment’s crown jewel will be held at an outdoor venue.
On March 30, 2008, the Citrus Bowl will hold more than 70,000 screaming WWE fans when WrestleMania invades Orlando.
The last time that Mania was held at an outdoor venue was WrestleMania 9 at Ceasars Palace las Vegas Nevada. This event was held back in 1993
Well for anyone planning on going, good luck on finding a seat where you could see anything at all. I'd pass and just watch on PPV, it's not worth sitting in the nosebleeds, with the daily chance of storms down in Florida, to see 4 hours of wrestling.

I like wrestling and all, but I don't love it enough to watch it from a football stadium!
I'm disappointed that Liz died. She's was too pretty to die.. :O( Still can't get over that. (Macho Man Randy Savage's Woman)

Yea I agree with you there, Liz was wonderful. It is also a shame that many other stars have passed away over the past few years. Such as Owen Hart, The Brittish Bulldog, and Kurt Hennig "Mr. Perfect"
I live in Orlando and i'm not going for one reason. Traffic is going to be murder going to the event and leaving the event. As for weather, for the most part, in March, it rarely rains at night, so it shouldn't be a big issue. Yes, the stadium is old and should be renovated soon, but it is certainly adequate for an event and the term nose-bleed is overrated. I've attended games at larger stadiums than the citrust bown, sitting in the top sections and the view was fine.

Where else would you watch it then? The biggest WWE PPV of all time is usualy held in a huge arena such as a football stadium or baseball stadium, or a hockey areana that holds a massive ammount of people.
The Daytona News Journal has an article up about WrestleMania 24 taking place at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL. In the article, Vince McMahon says that the wrestlers will continue to work the show even if it rains. He also says that the other locations being considered for WM24 were Paris and Las Vegas.
I hope this wrestlemania is better than the last one. Too bad Jeff Hardy got suspended, he probably would have won the money in the bank. The Undertaker will probably win. I want him to win even though I like Edge more - he is an awesome heel. I just don't want to see the streak end. I'd like to see the The Big Show win. And I don't think Cena will win because if he wins, ever guy over the age of 12 will probably riot. He's not too popular by anyone except girls and little kids. The best wrestlemania in my opinion was wrestlemania 17. That one was awesome.
Did anyone else think WM24 sucked this year?
Royal Rumble is slowly taking over as the best PPV

Both the Royal Rumble 2008 and Wrestlemania 24 sucked. The WWE is continually getting worse. I don't like what they're doing. They're keeping champions for way too long and pushing the same boring champions over and over. Let's look at something: CM Punk was ECW Champion for 143 days, Batista was WHC for 499 days, John Cena was WWE Champion for 793 days, and Randy Orton has been WWE Champion for 191+ days. The WWE NEVER CHANGES CHAMPIONS ANYMORE! It gets boring seeing the same people as champion week after week. Now that I've mentioned who has been champion, and their ridiculously long title reigns, let's look at who has won lately... John Cena won the Royal Rumble, CM Punk won the MITB, Batista defeated Umaga, and Randy Orton won the triple threat. Wow! How unpredictable (sarcasm). Remember back in the day (during The Attitude Era) where the titles were actually switched around so that it was entertaining? Let's look at who should have won...
Royal Rumble: anyone else besides the people mentioned already in this post...
MITB: Carlito or Shelton... I would actually have liked to see Santino Marella in that match. He's a perfect example of the lack of pushing skills that the WWE has... He's so hilarious. He cut some hilarious promos with Stone Cold... Remember that? Everybody loved that, even though they booed him (because he was a heel, although most people told me that they loved it)... People were cracking up when he dressed up like Stone Cold and started saying things like "I'll eat some low-fat frozen yogurt..." But the reason why he isn't so popular is that the WWE always embarrasses him. He is the best trash-talker in the WWE right now but he can't back anything up in a match. If the WWE let him win matches, he could become the next Rock.
Batista vs. Umaga: Umaga should have won because Batista gets pushed too much. But I actually really didn't care because it wasn't a title match or an important match...
Triple Threat: Triple H... although I'm only choosing him because I didn't want to choose the other two... I would liked to have seen someone new in there that deserves a title shot...
The best matches were:
The Undertaker vs. Edge: (two of my favorite Smackdown Superstars... although Edge has been annoying lately with this whole stupid Vicky Guerrero storyline... Edge is still one of my all-time favorites - he's probably in my top 5 - but he seriously needs to drop this gimmick).
Ric Flair vs. HBK: It was expected and at least Ric Flair had a good retirement match vs. a good wrestler at a top wrestling event.
Big Show vs. Mayweather: I wanted to see Big Show win but the cheating at least added a twist to it...
So the WWE seriously needs to change champions more often and stop putting off predictable events like this... the best WM of all time is WM 17.

Do you suffer from ADD or something? 143 days is a long title reign to you? You think pro wrestling would be better if there were new champions every 1 or 2 weeks? Please, man. If the belts change too often, the belts become less meaningful. And all those title reigns are not every long except for Cena's. Good thing you weren't alive in the 80's to watch wrestlign then. You would have been crying about Hulk Hogan being champion for over 4 straight years. You fail to realize that because he was champion for that long, when he did get beat, it was a HUGE deal. Today, when a chapionship belt changes hands it's no big deal because it happens so often.

WRONG. The best WrestleMania was 3, followed closely by 18.

No; I never said that I want a new champion every 1-2 weeks. But once every 3 months is decent. Some of the WWE/F's most popular times were in The Attitude Era of the late 90's... If I remember correctly, there were 13 title reigns that year. In a way, it kept things interesting but I think that that was way too often. A nice balance could be made. 3-4 champions a year, instead of 1 every 2, would be nice. And the only reason why I said that CM Punk's 143 day title reign was too long is because he's not that great. He's one of the WWE's super-faces that was created in order to cater to a bunch of little kids who still think that the heels are actually "mean." Chavo Guerrero would have been a better candidate for a 143 day reign.

Ummm... How can I be wrong about an opinion? You're entitled to you're opinion. I don't think Wrestlemania 3 was the best... it's highly popular because of 3 seconds... you always hear about Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant... many people couldn't tell you anything else about that wrestlemania... and many people prefer wrestlemania 17 to 18... every match was electrifying and it was the climax (and end) of the attitude era. But you probably prefer WM 18 because you watched wrestling in the 80's and since Hogan was in that WM, it was sort of a reunion to you. If I watched wrestling back then and was a hogan fan, then i'd probably prefer WM 18. But I was born in 1990, so i can't really relate to anything before 97 or so...
I haven't watched wrestling for a long time. That being said, I did enjoy it during the 90s. I could tell it was going to be in some trouble around 2000-2002, because they kept pushing the old stars and not trying to push younger talent. This made everyone love this old talent, but once many of those stars left for other things.
I know that they have since then pushed younger talent, but for alot of individuals (myself included), it was too little, too late.
Would I ever watch wrestling again? Yeah. Sometimes my friends invite my wife and I up to Hooters to watch the PPVs. I don't really pay attention to it much, because most of my time spent is conversing with my friends. But it brings back some good memories.
Would I ever watch wrestling every day it was on - like I did "back in the day"? Not a chance. Just doesn't interest me enough anymore. Everything is being recycled and there is no originality left in the characters or storylines.
Now: I'm obsessed with College Football. Ooooh yeah. It's going to be starting again soon!!! WOOOO :: Ric Flair accent ::
The show looked pretty awesome. I can't wait to see the blu-ray transfer.

Exactly! That's the reason that WWF beat the WCW in the Monday Night Wars. WCW was pushing the older stars and they just happened to fall before the WWF. But the problem with the WWE today is that they cater to little kids. They create a bunch of super-faces like John Cena, Batista, and CM Punk that only little kids like and then they push them like crazy.
