You could download open office at http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/instructions.html . I have a tutorials about openoffice (chm file). I'll send it to your email if you want it.

Did you mean web authoring?
Well you can use Writer for that.
But you may want to use a dedicated web authoring app.
If you use KDE, you can istall Quanta Plus. It comes bundled with most distro. It is an optional install so you may have to dig a bit deeper in the repositories.
it is ussually palced in KDe-extras package.
Another good open source web authoring app is NVU. it is cross-platform and cross-DE. I think it is a GNOME-native but you can use it in KDE.
Even on windows and MAC(?)

You should be able to use the Writer to author basic pages, and then simply save the files as html. They work, but aren't very pretty.
open office is one of my favorite open source software i replace my office 2007 to this......
