Dear Lovers of Liberty, the struggle is just beginning! Get ready...

Are you aware by May of 2008 the law will require you to carry a national identification card?
Are you aware that there are plans being developed to have all Americans embedded with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) computer chip under their skin so they can be tracked wherever they go?
Are you aware the Supreme Court has ruled that the government has no authority to impose a direct unapportioned tax on the labor of the American people, and the 16th Amendment does not give the government that power?
Are you aware that computer voting machines can be rigged and there is no way to ensure that vote is counted?

Erm .... OK. To sounds like the website is a load of old rubbish to be honest. I seriously doubt it will be compulsory for all Americans to have chips embedded under their skin which acts as a tracking device.

I don't believe the skin part...I agree that some sound like rubbish but I'll guess we'll see in 2008 Laughing

ID cards are also being introduced here in the UK (a believe a test trial has already been ran)...

ID cards
ID cards will provide legal UK residents, including foreign nationals, with an easy and secure way of proving who they are.

ID cards will be linked to their owners by unique biometric identifiers (for example, fingerprints), which mean we will have a much stronger way of protecting people's identities. Background checks will ensure that claimed identities are real and not stolen, and will prevent criminals using multiple identities.

The exact format of an ID card isn’t yet decided but it’s likely that it will be a credit card-sized plastic card featuring the holder’s photograph and a computer chip storing basic personal information.

Who’ll be eligible for an ID card?
You will be eligible for an ID card if you are:

UK resident for three months or more
over the age of 16
When will ID cards be introduced?
Our decision to introduce a National Identity Scheme was announced in the Queen's Speech on 17 May 2005. The Identity Cards Act received royal assent, becoming law, on 30 March 2006.

We will introduce biometric residence permits for foreign nationals in 2008 and we expect the first ID cards to be issued to British citizens in 2009.

I also heard that a iris scan will also be introduced into the card, as well as fingerprints. Whether this is true though I do not know.

Some people believe that ID cards are against everyones human rights, and I agree. I don't think it should be compulsory for us to carry around an ID card to prove who we are. Saying this however, if it eliminates terrorism in the world is it such a bad thing? I think it would be extremely beneficial for a widespread ID card to be introduced which also acts as a electronic combined passport, Social Security number, etc, etc, with the possibility to add info to it, like drivers license, possible organ donor, etc.

Shocked Confused

Now this is getting wierd. Does violate our rights because if you don't have the ID? Are they going to throw us in jail, suspect us being a terrorist, or just shoot us on the spot? In a way that's what the Nazi's did. It's the same the thing. Same Idea.

I suppose it depends on what you think they are going to use the information for and what information they actually have.

The ID card (here in the UK) will only really hold details that are already held apart from the biometric data.

I personally cannot see how anyone can have a problem with a system that proves who you are.
It is not linked to your bank account.
It does not hold as much information about you as the mobile phone company does.

It is a card that says who you are and provides the means for authorised parties (police etc.) to check your identity and prove who you are.

It seriously hampers identity theft and fraud which is costing millions every year in the UK alone.

Surely this is a good thing for everyone who is not a criminal or an illegal immigrant?

I understand that if you don't trust the government then you don't want them to have lots of data about you, but personally I trust the banks less and they hold a lot more data.

That's just it, these cards will hold a chip and if activated will have the right to shut off your funds. From what I read.

I can't speak for the US cards but the UK ones are not going to have any such chip.

That is going too far - an ID card is to prove your identity but I suppose once they know who you are and if you are a wanted criminal/terrorist then they have other channels to cut off your funds (through the courts).
