Robert Rankin, anyone?

To those of you who have read any of his books, I'm sure your ribs still hurt from all the laughing you've done.

To those of you who have yet to be introduced to one of the most side-splittingly funny authors you'll ever read, you have GOT to check him out.

He's been compared to Douglas Adams (Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe, etc.) and rightly so. A friend of mine recently lent me 8 of his books including "The Brentford Trilogy"...all 7 of them...lmao. I've never laughed so hard in my life!!!!

Imagine for a moment taking a bus to work, and reading a book that makes you break out in gales of laughter, then trying to explain to the illiterate masses that yes, a book can be funny. Well, that was me.

Characters that make no sense whatsoever (ie: a teddybear detective that gets drunk by sitting on his head on a bar stool because all the booze has sunk to his sawdust-filled feet) and social situations that leave you looking for a clean pair of shorts because you wet yourself laughing so hard.

I highly recommend "The Witches of Chiswick" only because it was the first one I read, and it left me begging for more.

Cheers...and enjoy (again and again and again)
