Hola!

I am taking Elementary Spanish I this semester. Can anyone please help me with my Spanish? Here is a short paragraph that I have to rewrite, in response to the question, Describe your daily routine on a regular day this semester. My professor, unfortunately, did not mark corrections [he just deducted 5 points], so I have no idea on what to change. Embarassed

Basically, all I want to say--very simply, in English--is:
My daily routine every Monday and Wednesday is very difficult. At seven o'clock, I drive to school. My first class, Chemistry Lab I, is a eight o'clock. I have one hour and forty minutes free to study in the library. Spanish 131 is eleven thirty to twelve twenty. My third class, Calculus I, is twelve thirty to one twenty. English 106 is one thirty to two twenty. I have two hours free to eat and study in my car. My class at four thirty is General Chemistry II Lecture. I get home at around fifteen minutes before six o'clock. I eat dinner at seven o'clock. I study for five hours. I am very tired every Monday and Wednesday.

Any kind of help would be very much appreciated. Smile

The online translator has it like this. The resources are online. All you have to do is find it. ;o) Found it unless then 3 minutes. Cool

Hehe, thanks rheanna, but I do use online translators though they usually generate translations with really bad grammar, so it's not very advisable. Laughing I was hoping to get some feedback from native Spanish speakers. Smile But hey, thanks for replying. Wink

lol okay, I still have my Spanish book from college and I can't even understand it. Shame, I really tried to learn Spanish too. But my teacher would never help me. He'd always tell me "Don't worry you got the grade" Confused Every time I asked for help. Even my classmates were clueless and we formed a study group to even try to figure it out but with no success. We passed with a B+ and no one knew Spanish. I was pissed because it affected my G.P.A. and I really want to learn. He taught the people who knew Spanish - Spanish and the ones in class who had no clue about Spanish got the _"Don't worry you got the grade" Confused Mad Good Luck. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. What's going to s*ck is that if I go back to college, their going to place me in Spanish 2 and I don't even know Spanish 1. I can speak the basics but can't conjugate the verbs, or write it down in Spanish.

Well, my translation can't be perfect but it's better than online translator, sure Cool
In Spanish we usually don't write the personal pronouns but you should do it, more easy for you, I think: Yo estudio... Yo ceno... Yo tengo... Yo conduzco...

Happy learning!!!

Thank you very much!

Yes, I see what you mean. That would be very useful. Smile

Once again, thanks a lot! It sounds so much better now. B)

@rheanna: You can learn try learning again, if you want to. Wink I think Spanish is one of the most practical languages to learn in the US. Almost every other person is Hispanic! Laughing [Ok, that was exaggerated Laughing]

Hello friends,

I am pleased to see there was a lot of help for our friend Darvit, who is studying Spanish.

Please, let me just point out the fact that there are some different correct Spanish languages in the world...

Here in Spain we speak approximately the way it is quoted here:

Quote:

Quiviro from Madrid did a good job for sure! [¡Buen trabajo Quiviro! Yo también soy de Madrid].

You will find some differences with the translation made by Stuck from Mexico:

Quote:
In my opinion both are correct. It depends on what Spanish do you want to learn. I think the construction of the language corresponds to the Language Royal Academies, which exist in many Spanish speaking countries. Please use these links to learn more about this (it seems it is in Spanish only):

http://www.rae.es/rae/gestores/gespub000030.nsf/voTodosporId/783197258001A96EC125715A003A41E7?OpenDocument

There you will find links to the different academies, and a link to the Dictionary of the Spanish Language by the Spanish Language Royal Academy in Spain. A very good dictionary I use myself very often.

Thank you very much and... ¡¡¡buena suerte con el español!!!

¡Muchas gracias! Smile

Yes, I did notice the difference between Quiviro's and stuck's translations. My professor is from Madrid, so right now, I am learning Spain-style [?] Spanish.

I enjoy seeing the differences, though. Smile

Thanks for the link, eljormaz. There's even a link to the Real Academia in the Philippines [my country of origin--Spanish has been relatively easier to learn for me because there are probably a million Spanish words in the Filipino language]! Very Happy

Once again, ¡muchas gracias! Me has ayudado mucho.

[I can't write well in Spanish yet, but later on when I improve, I'll write to you all in proper Spanish Wink]
