Google can trace you via their cookies as well, so simply using a proxy will not make your searches truly anonymous. Unless you delete cookies before and after every search term you make, a history of your searches will still be available through Google. The advantage of the Scroogle Scraper is that it intercepts and removes the cookie before it touches your PC and all Scroogle searches originate from the Scroogle IP address. Along with Scroogle's frequent deletion of access logs, this is actually a more anonymous way to search.
