CSS table: printing cells with emphasis

Royal
I use exteral css, with a @media print { } section.
I noticed that backgroundcolors (even plain black, darkgrey) are not printed.
White font is printed in light-grey...

The good thing is that suppressing unwanted items (e.g. the Print-button) can be hidden.
However, I would like to use cell-backgroundcolors anyway, or use other means of emphasis. Maybe a box. Something like rules:all seems to be just HTML, not CSS.

Suggestions? Highly appreciated!

The fact that background-colors are printed or not is a choice of the user.
By default, the browsers are configured to not print them, but the user can change this very easily.

If you want emphasis, tune the text part, not the background...

I'm with Ranfaroth. If you want to emphasize the cells, work on the text, not in the background.
He's also right about backgrounds. It's the user browser that defines if the background will be printed or not.
