I have just got Cre Loaded (you now have to pay for it Sad

)
And was wondering if any Oscommerce templates would work on it as they are both based on the same script almost.

Will it work#?

Standard OS Commerce templates do not work on CRE Loaded OS commerce. You have to look for CRE Loaded templates Like at algozone I had a CRE Performance auto part store hosted through Chain Reaction for a couple of years. They have a top quality product and service.

If you learn a little css and Photoshop the stock templats are very easy to customize.
