Paypal. Knowing if someone payed?

ncwdavid
Hey, I want to know how you know if someone payed for something on your site through paypal. E.g. If someone buys access to a certain part of your site and it all goes through correctly they are brought to the page and from then on they can access it when there logged in in your site. I want to know how to protect that page from people just guessing the url to that page and looking at it? Does paypal register a spcial session to the person or a cookiwe if they have payed successfully?

P.S. I didnt know where to post this. Confused

You can make a log in script for that specific portion of your website that you want to be blocked by people who did not pay. You could make it that only people who are a certain access level can access that portion.

But how would you know if that person payed or not?

you can create a block when you set up that portion of a website. only accessible to users with registered passwords and log in information. Paypal transfers are stored on your paypal account and can be viewed from there, they are to the second of a transfer.

You also receive an email from PP every time somone pays you. Just watch out for the fake ones and don't ever click any links in an email.

Look at this for an example:
http://www.urbanmagicshop.com/magicpredictionkeycardid1-2card.htm

Now if you look at the paypal code on it:

Code:
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
<input name="notify_url" value="http://www.urbanmagicshop.com/order/order.php" type="hidden">
<input name="cmd" value="_xclick" type="hidden">
<input name="business" value="HIS EMAIL ADDRESS" type="hidden">
<input name="item_name" value="Two Card Monte Instant Download" type="hidden">
<input name="item_number" value="1" type="hidden">
<input name="return" value="http://www.urbanmagicshop.com/order/order.php/return" type="hidden">
<input name="amount" value="4" type="hidden">
<input name="no_shipping" value="1" type="hidden">
<input name="shipping" value="0" type="hidden">
<input name="shipping2" value="0" type="hidden">
<input name="handling" value="0" type="hidden">
<input name="no_note" value="1" type="hidden">

<input name="currency_code" value="USD" type="hidden">
<input src="/images/buynow.gif" name="submit" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!" type="image">
</form>

The return url is the url after you payed and if you try and go to that before you payed it says "Access not granted". Does anyone know how he did this? The owner of the site is here one frihsot so maybe you can PM me and tell me or post it here?
