The same method, or a slight variation on it, can be used on many quality email services. For example, fastmail ( http://fastmail.fm/ ) allows you to use either the + keyword or setup subdomain addresses.

Assuming you had an address of me ( at fastmail.fm), you could use either me+filter or use filter at me.fastmail.fm. Setting up filters to direct different addresses to different folders will vary a little from one service to another. If a particular address generates a lot of spam, you can send the mail directly to a spam folder or reject it completely.

Note: I obscured the examples a little so they don't look like amail addresses to spambots. I hope they are still clear enough.
