That said: The afterlife isn't that well-defined in the Christian religion. We know that there is a Heaven and Hell, that Hell is a place of punishment, and after the events in Revelations those that believe will go to Heaven, but otherwise the system isn't that well defined. Because of that, there has been some dispute as to what happens, and so various explanations have gone in cycles (see what happened to Limbo recently as an example).

I guess this really depends on the form of Christianity that you practice. Being a Christian, really only means that you have accepted Jesus as your savior. That is all that is explained in the Bible. Anything else that you hear about Jesus' crucifixion are simply the way it is interpreted. You can believe in no Heaven or Hell, and believe that when you die you are reborn as a molecule of air. That is still being a Christian as long as you accept Jesus as your savior, no matter what he is being your savior for.

I must say first of all Yantaal, you weren't speaking to a Christian if she told you there is not "heaven". By reborn I'm assuming she is talking about reincarnation. Reincarnation is NOT a Christian teaching. Death and Resurrection are.
So you might want to listen to those knowledgeable in the teachings of Christ to get some answers.

I honestly believe you weren't talking to a Christian if they believed in reincarnation. To be honest, there is no subsidary of Christianity that I know of that teaches reincarnation.

Yeah, that's right! Reincarnation has NOTHING to do with Christianity, it's mostly in Buddhism and Hindusim! We believers believe there is Heaven and Hell, none other. And the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, God's only Son who died for our sake so that we wouldn't have to pay the penalty for our sins!
