has anyone ever driven one of this?
I want to test drive one
how fast are they?
Since seeing one for the first time I have wanted one. They are a bit too pricey for me though.
that is really a nice car to drive.
a nice car to drive in it
nothin great about the car....except for its design maybe ...actually the Rx-7 was better.... one weird thing about this car is that the rear doors cannot be opened without opening the fronts ones!!
what's weird, the RX-7 is more powerful than the RX-8. Maybe Mazda targetted the RX-8 to be more family car. You can't expect their craziness when it comes to marketing.
Definitely an awesome car...

Well the reason for that is because they are suicide doors. They aren't indended to be opened unless someone is getting into it, there isn't much room to store stuff back there. But all in all, love the car, would prefer the RX-7 but the 3rd Gens have massive reliability problems, where the new RX-8, while it may have minor problems, does not have near as many as the RX-7 did. The problem I have with the RX-8 is they need to come out with the MAZDASPEED8. Then I will buy it...
The rx-8's are nice to drive, although I haven't driven one and have only attended the back seat during this test... I reckon it's pretty sweet. Smooth too, but power-wise, I reckon the RX-7 is alot more ftw.
The rx-8 looks too much like a family car and is quite heavy aswell!
But why buy an rx-8 when you can get a nissan Z fairlady for the same price ;>
i heard about those
they are driven by a wankel engine
and the technology is not yet ready developed
you can be sure it will break down after 50 thousand miles
nice car though

Funny thing, the RX-8 and Z are the same performance and handling wise, and with the RX-8 you get better gas mileage.

The rotary engine has been around over 30 years! How can you say that the technology hasn't been developed. The rotary engine has been out for so long, and sadly there are still people that don't understand how it works, nor do they realize how long it's been in production. As for the breakdown after 50k, depends on what you mean by break down, all cars will have mechanical issues, but complete engine going? Not after only 50k.
UPDATE: I will probably be purchasing my 2004 or newer Mazda RX-8 in the next couple months, and am more than excited, first thing that will be done is to order the full GReddy Turbo Kit. Granted that's going to cost me an extra 5 grand, but it'll be worth it in the end, I'm getting the 8 for quite a bit cheaper than blue book. No there's no problems with it, I just have a hookup at a friend's dealership.
