PS Kaiser Chiefs are British, I believe they come from Leeds in Yorkshire, England.

Mansun? hmm never heard of. If they are really like oasis and blur I think I will like their music also.

playing guitars, making "real" music is the first step in the right direction...I've always liked Shed Seven, too...as well, obvioulsy, as Paul Weller.

I must admit to taking my daughter to Sheffield a year or two ago to see Busted....and really quite enjoyed the gig.
Their saving grace was that they actually played instruments (or SOMEBODY did!)....I let my wife take her to the "Pop Idol" type rubbishy concerts!

BTW: there has been a lot of fuss lately around Franz Ferdinand. They're an AWESOME group!!! their songs are so catchy and still... I dunno... maybe a little lo-tech. I guess they must be the new form of brit-pop (even though I wouldn't really want to put them in the same category as other "pop" artists cause I think they really aren't about that)

yes, Franz Ferdinand are very good (been around in the UK a couple of years now).
Currently, a couple of bands here that are very big are "Kaiser Chiefs" and "Arctic Monkeys"...watch out for them, or download one or two of their tracks...you won't be disappointed.
