What to charge for advertising space

bgillingham
I've read a few topics and posts about this subject, but I still feel that I am left without an answer. I have been negotiating a change to an advertisement that was purchased on my web about a month ago - the advertiser wants to move this link from the pages that its on to my #1 ranking page, and without an additional payment. Currently, the text-only ad is placed on the top of thousands of pages in the specific category that applies to their service (not all of these pages are indexed, with a PR between 0 and 2).

Is there a reliable and easy way to measure just how much money to charge an advertising agency for placing whatever type of ad on your page?

I'd be interested in seeing something that takes into account either the web's Alexa ranking, or # of visitors per day. Also, calculating the $ charge should also be based on what type of ad (468x60 banner, text link with title, text link with title and description).

Any help and information is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, this certainly helps - those are exactly like the tools that I am talking about!

The results from linkworth are a little bit ambiguous -- it calculates values, but are they monthly charges or yearly charges? I am assuming that they are annual prices, but I thought that many links are sold on a monthly basis - with hopes of selling deals for a year at a time.

Well as far as I can see, the results from linkworth seems to be on per month basis IMO.
