You can use the embed tag, but you'll have to upload through something else like the CP or a CMS.
why not just ftp.

Yes, when coding probably the best way is to use PHP. It the admin control centre you create, do a file upload. You'll find that it is simple to upload songs on the go. Although, if you are concerned about your allowed transfer, watch out!!! Uploading medium sized files (or files that are bigger than .htm or .php files) can add up quickly.
