What adsense ads get the most hits? is it the text ads or the picture ads.. and what sizes?
googles ads - which are best
I'm not sure which (in terms of picture ads vs. text ads, skyscraper ads vs. square ads) will get better results - this really depends on the placement of the ads in relation to your content. However, I will say that the Google referrals (Google Pack, Firefox with Google search bar etc) are a complete waste of time. I got one click within three months, so I removed them.
If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time with these.

I never get clicks for image ads, I suggest the text ads only.
But like he said, it depends on your content really. Link units also seem to do good, just make it look like part of your navigation. Don't blend them too much because that is against the TOS and you will be banned. The only problem is that you need two clicks to get money with link units.

Same here. What's the point of offering refferals to products that everyone already has? Maybe if they expanded their range a bit.
On a side not, I use a scyscraper picture ad on my site, and it works pretty well

Yes, it depends on your site layout/design. Some people said skycrapper bring the most clicks, some said the square is the best for them. the best thing you can do is test it. Use special ads chanel for this purpose. Place one ads type for 1 week or so, then change it with other ads type. Compare the CTR % and keep the highest CTR ads.
Regarding the text and images, I actually never use image ads. And from what I've read so far, people always state that text ads is better. Perhaps since image ads are similar to old fashion banner ads. Using text ads you can also blend your ads properly with your content. this will reduce the "ads blind" effects that will improve your CTR.
Good luck.

Personaly i allow both image ads and text ads. The advantage with text ads is there is 2 or 3 ads that are listed so you have a better chance of getting a click. But like the rest said it really depends on your site.
I think good image ads fetch more revenue than the text one. I haven't got a single click on my text ads while I have gained 56 click on the image ads.
and as for the refferer firefox is is good. Till today i have got 26 downloads for firefox.
I would say with the image ads, but again it may make a difference on your page loadings..

I have never used image ads, since they stand out to much and make most pages look ugly. But if you are going to use image ads i think you might aswell just do CPM (i think thats the right one
), since it looks the same and you are at least guaranteed to make a tiny bit.
it depends on your place of google ads is displayed
I think the referral link revenue directly depends on the types of visitors to your website. For example... having a firefox link on a site that caters to mostly computer literate visitors who more than likely would use firefox anyways would be a huge waste of time. The same can be said if you link say a link for adsense on a social networking site... how many people who visit those sites run web servers? I've seen a social networking site with about a 1000 users pull in 30-50 paid downloads for firefox. Again, it depends on the needs of your visitors...
