The folder may be owned by apache, meaning that you cannot delete it. Some software like SMF creates this problem.
If the folder is owned by apache then the UID | GID will be assigned to apache, and it should be dougie1. This fix may help if this is the problem.

I have the same problem

Deleting directories in my control panel ( file manager ) is not possible .

Each time I try to delete a directory I got the message

"" Unable to delete files

Details

Unable to delete directory /domains/alkutob-jordan.frih.net/public_html/joomla2. The directory /domains/alkutob-jordan.frih.net/public_html/joomla2 is not empty

Unable to delete directory /domains/alkutob-jordan.frih.net/public_html/phpbb3. The directory /domains/alkutob-jordan.frih.net/public_html/phpbb3 is not empty ""

Yes I found that the folders are owned by apache .

I read the topic

( Fix for deleting files/directories owned by apache )

But I found it defficult to manage with such problem .

Can the admin delete such directories ? or it is difficult to apply such service for all members ?

I have edited the topic title, so hopefully Bondings can re-assign all files/folders to your username from apache more quickly. Please however remember that he is busy, so this may not be done soon.
