CSS help with existing "roll overs"

bjwok
hi folks,

i have an issue with a site i am making for a mate, and it may be a simple solution, so i am hoping someone can set me straight!

ok i have this site: http://www.babelaudio.org/free.html

it's in it's infancy so go easy on the content!

see the "blog" and "read more" links in the right hand nav boxes?

i cannot for the life of me, make the links in the main content of the page (the "download" links) have the same "rollover" and "arrow" effect as in the sidebar items!!

the two style sheets i have can be downloaded here:

http://www.babelaudio.org/style/style.css

http://www.babelaudio.org/style/colour.css

i know i will need to make a div and a new class based on "sidebaritem" and "sbilinks", but no matter what i have tried it never works!! arghhhh!

any help on this matter would be ace!

cheers in advance!

I think I know the problem you have. You have two stylesheets, and each stylesheet has a class called sidebaritem. What you need to do is to put all the sidebar items into one CSS file, not split across two. Give me a little bit and I'll see if I can get it to work for you.

EDIT

This is going to take me some time, but I'm going to work on this one page, and move everything into one css file. I'm convinced it's getting confused.

Right, I've figured it out. Decided not to go down the one stylesheet route. Instead, I've added bits in to each style sheet. Here are the two stylesheets you need.

Just replace your existing ones with these and it should all work.

Let me know when you have downloaded them off the site so I can delete them.

hey steve,

thanks for your help mate - i'm just checking through here before going to work, but will get on this evening and download the new style sheets and post a proper reply then...

thanks heaps man

hi steve,

thanks heaps for that champ, i have downloaded the updated files so you can remove the link no sweat.

ok, so looking into it deeper, you have created a few more lines of code in colour.css - all for column2 a and then added #column2 a to style.css within the sidebaritem

and i see that part you removed around line 235.

i gotta say, the ideas i had been trying came nothing close to fixing it, so i am totally thankful for your help! and the speed with which you replied knocked me off the chair!

thanks again champ, have a nice day!

Hey, no problem. Glad it worked for you. Smile
