Ancient Method to learn PERL

Can anyone , suggest me , some ancient techniques and methods by which i can put a nice basement with PERL ???

Please recommend me , BOOKS which are

Small ,
Clean ,
Modular ,
and give a good grasp of the basic syntax and techniques of PERL .

I think it is again , going to run the future ..........

When , new languages are coming by their way , Perl , will again make a domination on the NET WORLD .
