Hi! I have some questions about Domain names...

1. If I buy a domain name. Do I have to pay for it every year or is it mine as long as I lives? (does it depends?)

2. If I want to have my own server. Is it my ip number I should connect to the domain name? Do I have to have a static ip then?

You need to pay for a domain name each year. Normally, the price displayed is a yearly cost excluding any taxes or fees.

You can point the domain to a static IP address. Dynamic IP addresses also work, but this causes an extra complication (you normally need to run additional software etc). A static IP is much better if you are planning on running your own server.
