NHL All Star Game
So, apparently the NHL is really suffering now a days. The TV ratings for the NHL All Star Game was apparently dismally low (it fell over 70% from the last one) except in Canada.
So what does everyone think? Why has hockey fallen off the radar?

People have other things to do. People have lives...lol...I really have no idea, I know I personally don't watch all that much tv just because i am so busy doing so many other things and already wish there was more time in each day to get everything done, but when i sit down to watch tv it is normally to watch sportscenter (highlights of all sports) and then 24 and Lost are the only two shows I watch anymore. Well 3 including sportscenter. Other then that I try to get outside and be more active and stay in shape and just have a lot to do in life. I don't know, maybe I am the only one.
That is a good point, but that doesn't mean people can't get out and enjoy a good old hockey game.
Besides, I don't see North America getting into shape anytime soon, so you most likely are the only one.
Alot of people also hate Gary Bettman. I certainly think he is a bit of an idiot. He has not helped the league at all...

The new rules in hockey were put in to attract more casual fans, and what they did was alienate die-hard ones. People who really like hockey hate the shoot-out overtime rule. Banning the 2-line pass was the only good rule change.

Yeah, the rule change did seem to annoy a lot of people. I guess by the popularity of my thread, people don't seem to care about hockey.
I used to be a huge hockey fan, never missed an Oilers game, and i'd sit and watch highlights on SportCentre for a good hour every night.
But I dunno, ever since the lockout I've never really gotten into it. Even during the Oilers big playoff run last season I didn't watch too much. I'd love to get back into it I just have trouble doing that.
