Hi there all, as more of us are starting to run servers at home I am sure there must be some great sound proofing solutions some of you have come up with, with regard to running a PC/server in a cupboard for instance.

I am running a server at home and need some tips on building a kid of server cupboard if you like.

so I would be interested in some tips tricks and consernces as to how to build this cupboard in terms of making it a suitable environmt to run my server and achieve a sound proof effect.

cheers

The problem is that you HAVE to have tons of airflow for a server. For that reason, most people find a dry area in their basement and let their servers run down there. Also, they tend to give off a lot of heat-- you don't want (nearly) a space heater in your office in the middle of the summer. It is more cost-efficient in terms of HVAC to just hide it away in the basement.
