Modifying cars

cruisearound
Hi, im a member of a large ford escort community known as EscortEVOlution.
Just wondered what your views on car modifying are.
Ive taken mine quite far from what it started as, mstly for looks at the moment but engine work is on its way after the summer, take a look at mine before and after and see what you think?

Good job! I like it.
Some noobs overtune their cars, thinking that the more stickers you have on your car, the cooler it is. In this case (the car above) the non-conformism didn't breached the common sense. Congratulations!

A very nice job; a bit ricer-ish but what else is there to do with a ford escort?

Thank you for your comments, the club i belong to in the uk usually heads in various directions with there cars, theres the big bodykit show car look which is the direction mine is headed, then we have the more subtle looks and modifications but very tidy & clean. The other direction members go for is pure power regardless of looks basically meaning that you have a standard looking car but with the power to take on high performance sports class giving immense pleasure just seeing the surprise expressions.
The club i belong to in the uk is www.escortevolution.co.uk.

Woa man that car turned out sweet. I have a car similar to the before picture. My friend tried to do what you did except he ended up with just stickers and neon lights. Great Job!

Me and my dad went crazy on an old 1952 M37. It turned out pretty good. With older cars everything is metal so you can pretty much do anything without screwing other stuff up. For instance before repainting it we just sandblasted pretty much everything.

It looks awesome!
Is it mod to RS turbo charge?
I've seen a cosworth's front wheels on the air when
pickup from stand still.

Clean, but not the direction I would go. Personally I'm into performance and handling. Just cus a car can go fast in a straight line, doesn't mean it can handle the corners. But I give you props on not "adding hp with stickers".

looks really nice, bigger rims wouldnt hurt, but that´s ofc really expensive, both for rims and tires.
Really nice work mate Smile

So what are you planning to do with the engine this summer?

Regards
clydejaw
That's a nice kit.

I'm not really into fords though, however I can see that you've done a good job and has kept it in mint cond.
