Chatroom Script

Hi

can anyone recommend a good chat room script...

preferably free but not neccessarly,

looked around and all the ones ive found are crap and dull and nothin u can do or edit to change that!

The script has to be safe scripting, i.e. wont need people to say yes to security download or applet etc...

What scripting language are you interesting in?

that usually requires the user of chat room having to give permision to download an applet or access it etc....

i want it so the user can just go into the chat room no problems or security warnings!

i think i did say that in my original post.....

and its a chat room.. not chat software!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dnt want programs like msn etc i want chatroom script...

somin like a java chat or flash like yahoo has etc (but not messenger)

Are you wanting to host it?
If not then I suggest spinchat. I have used it for ages. Free but it is an applet but not things saying yes etc.

If not then this has to be for you. If youve seen it then yourve underestimated it. Flashchat is great.I havent used it as an owner as never paid for it but on other sites its brilliant.

Well first give the PHP section of www.hotscripts.com a look, they have lots of chat scripts. Second you can use the scripts provided with your free hosting for a chat script (they have two, a simple chat script, simple, and ugly, they also have PHPmyChat or something like that which is a pretty advanced chat room).

hi i have paid for and am tryin to install flash chat

but needs the following information about my sql database...

Database Name:
Database User:
Database Password:
Database Host:
Table Prefix:

it says to contact our host to gain this information to prevent errors so thought i'd do so but havent herd anything....

is user n password likey to be the same as the ftp?? flash chat sez it may not thats y im to ask the admin but u sent a pm n herd nothing!

so thought i'd ask others here....

try BlabLite 2.0 if u want a simple chat thing...

I used Fantasya.org for the chatrooms and bots, and pjIRC for the interface.
pjIRC is free for personnal use (personnal website)

Slick, I'm pretty sure you have to CREATE a mySQL database in your Cpanel with some information and then copy that information into Flash Chat. Although it's not to hard to create a chatbox using php and a file (Just the button and text field form elements. Submit it to an included php file whitch adds it to it's self and add in periodic refreshing. Oh, you might need some filters too.)
